not to thread jack, but do you think a prerunner with an open diff would have any success out there on the easy trails?

There were a few pre runners out there with open differentials that had no problem I think

A few of the guys out there were open diff prerunners, they could do most of the easy stuff

It said on the trail map the green trails were the "easy" trails. Thats what I was referring to. I might just have to wait until I save up some more money and get the rear diff lock before I go out there. Thanks for the help.

We had one stock sr5 taco w/ open diffs that did pretty damn good. You just have to be ballsy with the accelerator

Biggest mistake I made was not airing down. I didn't have an air compressor so I didn't want to get stuck riding half flat tires back to town for air. Now I do have a portable air compressor that will fill the tires pretty damn quick - so if I was going to take the PreRunner on the trails again I would be airing down.

I aired down a bit and I think it helps. It's about a half mile to the nearest gas station that has air. I just filled up right after we left and went slow getting there.

Sorry about that - I remembered about 15 mins out that you had aired down. Next time I'll set up my portable air and we can take care of everyone at once.

I have a compressor in my cab too. It's a little electric one but it does just fine. My pressure was plenty good to make it to the gas station. I really wasn't worried at all. The torment I put those tires through on the trail; they'd be fine for half a mile on flat road lol

It was some mudhole with a wall on the other side. I'll post the pic when I get back to a pc.

I was supposed to be going up and over the dirt ramp at the back of the 4Runner.
