Strange Brake Issue

I recently started having issues with the brakes being extremely grabby on my 06 Tacoma. They also have an issue of not fully releasing after you let up off of the brakes. I took it back to the dealer, and they said that they did not find any problems. The said they adjusted the rear brakes before their test drive, and that that was the fix. They implied that the issue was caused by me not getting them adjusted every 5000 miles. I took the truck home and the breaks are still not right, better, but still grabby and there is now additional noise when I press on the break and release. The new noises are the pedal. I looked under the hood found that they disconnected the sensor cable on the side of the brake reservoir. Reattaching the cable makes the grabbing issue worse.

Has anyone seen this? Any suggestions? They are telling me nothing is wrong...

 

How many miles on your truck? You say the noise is at the pedal? What does it sound like?

 

22600 miles. The down press is the pneumatic air noise, might of been doing that before, just more paranoid about the noise now. It seems louder, anyway. The up noise is a metal to metal knock when it hits the top. Is there are stop plate there that it might be hitting harder than before? The knock definitely wasn't there before I took it to the dealer. There is also a slight resistance when you first push in the peddle that seems like some type of catch resistance that it slips past as it continues towards the floor.

In case you might be wondering, the floor mat is anchored and has not slipped up underneath the brake pedal.

 

there was a tsb, 2 actually, if im not mistaken, for brake pedal assy issues, and a tsb where they installed new rotors and pads. you may want to look into that. sounds to me,from what you have said that the brake sensor may be bad, since they are more "grabby" when you plug said sensor back in. i'd look into the tsb's and see what the dealer has to say.

 

None of the TSB's are related to the brakes. The were some issues with the emergency brake, but that does not show as a TSB for the 2006 Tacaoma.

Pulled the battery cables off for about an hour. Six days and the issue has not reoccurred. There must of been something wrong with the computer.
