well that didn't quite work but I learned something.

the sleeve's depth is about half of what its sitting in. I was banging on the bottom and realized it was a solid piece. I might be able to get a screwdriver inside from the bottom and tap the bottom of the sleeve. I just don't want to damage things so if anyone has a solution please chime in.

I was actually going to suggest that. I don't think you can really mess anything up...

I tried to put a wrench on the lip of the sleeve and get it to move. bad idea all I managed to do was chew up the edge. I am going to tape that bitch out.

no luck:( I cant get it out for the life of me. I need a different approach to the problem. I keep putting on liquid wrench and banging on it. I can see where the screwdriver is digging into the bottom of the sleeve and no movement what so ever.:confused::confused::confused::confused:

    OK I got it:D

Here is the picture of the problem and the solution. I figured I would sacrifice a wood chisel to get the project moving again. Worked like a charm:D Time for a cold one

Awesome! Did you mar up the sleeve too much? Can it still be used with the ball joint?

I need to just knock of the rough edge where the screwdriver dug in and created a lip. I didnt want to force it and screw up the threads on the bolt. Should be easy to remedy.

well a cold one turned into six. :D

It went smooth after I got out the sleeve. I removed the top three bolts on the coilovers then the bottom bolt . I had to cranck the wheel and wrestle them out but it saved me from having to disconect a bunch of stuff. Once they were out I went in reverse putting on the stock coilovers and uca's. I used a jack to raise the shorter coilover into placeI didn't end up using a torque wrench. I just tightened everything as tight as I could make it. I am a pretty big guy so it should be fine. I ran into problems with the driver side uca and ended up putting the long bolt front to back. I just couldn't get it to go the other way. So glad I did this. tomorrow I will remove the rear shocks, aal, grill, and cai.

here are the rest of the pics

Awesome job dude! The part I've always wondered about was the rubber boot on the stock ball joint.

Awesome man! Now that you see that you can do this stuff you should have more confidence to take on some bigger projects. Keep up the good work.

    I am done. :bananadance:

Well I jacked her up took off the tires and changed out the rear shocks. Real easy . I left the aal in and the truck looks all funny with its ass in the air. I took out my cai and my grill and sirius receiver and antenna. I am even going to take out my bed mat before I trade her in. I took some pics of the work I did on the rear. Now its time to get a new truck. I am trying to get one under invoice. wish me luck.
