4x4 only? TSB

I'm having trouble with my dealer with getting the suspension TSB done. I have an 08 PreRunner but they keep telling me that the TSB only applies to 4x4 trucks. I even went the the 1-800 toyota number and the dealership called me back today, they still insisted that it was for 4x4 only. I'm pretty sure i've seen plenty PreRunners on here with the TSB done can anyone confirm this? Also anyone know where i can get it done no hassle in San Antonio,TX??

 

It shouldn't have anything to do with it being 2wd or 4wd, its about the load carrying capacity. Call different dealers in your area, some are nicer than others. I had to call around to get mine done. Have your vin # ready that will tell if your vehicle qualifies or not.

 

yeah that's what i figured but then they just keep saying they can't get it done.

I just called another dealership, Red McCombs Toyota, that said that he remembers doing it to a 2wd. So i'm just going to swing it by over there. They can't check my vin# online to see if it qualifies.

 

No problems here either. Find a different dealer like suggested above.

 

They didn't give you any hassle? I see you have an 08 as too; is it possible that i may have the newer "G" leafs and that may be disqualifying me?

 

I had the G's too and had no problem having them replaced. I am looking at a copy of the TSB and it says "for 4wd and prerunner". Find the link in the first post and print off the TSB and have them read it themselves.
