I have been looking all over jacksonville for a metra Kit. The guys at Daddy O's car audio say that the 2005-2008 metra kit will fit in my car fine. But i have read reviews on bestbuy.com that the kit doesnt even come close to fitting the new 2011 Tacomas. I just bought my truck 4 days ago. And the factory setup is not of my liking. I wanted to upgrade it. I oringally bought a Pioneer P3300BT double din but returned it when i couldnt find a double din dash kit. I ended up trading it for a cheaper kenwood single-din in hopes that it would be easier to find a single din kit. But the metra kits are both single and double din. So still, i am plagued with the question: Will it fit in my truck? And every where i go and ask people they always say that the Schoche kits are garbage. So my question is, Does anyone out there have a new 2011 with a after-market radio installed? And which kit fits best and works out well. I would like it to match the factory stuff in the truck, so i would like to use the metra kit...

So you think if i get the 2005-2008 kit from metra that is textured and silver to match my factory shroud it will fit? I looked on metra's website and they have one that is rated for 2005-2011 but its only for double din radios or two single din (http://www.metraonline.com/part/99-8214TB). This kit seems to only come in black. They other is the standard one that everyone seems to be using: (http://www.metraonline.com/part/99-8214TG) that comes in black and in standard silver.

thanks bro, i ended up buying the cheaply made scoche just because it was readily available. I have the radio installed and it sounds way better with the factory speakers...ill be changing those out next. Along with installing the steering wheel control accessory thats just sitting in the front seat...the wiring is the hardest part...

Four hours after I finished installing my new stereo, I finally figured out what i was doing wrong with the PAC SWI-RC wiring. I didnt ground it to the harness for the factory steering wheel controls. You have to ground it to both the steering wheel control harness and the harness for the stereo it self. So thats the only thing that was keeping the controls from controling my radio. I was pulling my hair out!

I ended up getting a single din with a cheap JVC H/U to save money to complete my system. But the Scoche is made cheaply in comparison to metra products. If you go over a bumpy road the H/U might move a bit because the Scoche brackets are plastic and cheap. Sorry for the late reply. Haven't been on here in a while.
