I got the PDX 4.150 on ebay for $329 last year. The MB Quarts are here and they sound awesome. I installed the cat back and the CAI and I love the sound of it. Let me know if you want to check it out before you buy.

Hey avanasch, any chance you could post those wiring diagrams in a higher resolution?

That system looks really sweet, and they say the Garmin system can't be beat. I am getting the same head unit this week in the mail and should be able to have it installed next Saturday. Thanks to AVANASH and that wiring diagram he posted we should be able to install it with no problems. I will get some pics up (including the installation) as soon as I can. If anyone has any further advice, lay it on me.

I DO have a question as to how to overide the switch that allows you to watch. movies while you drive. Is it like others where you just ground the wire or like those funky Alpines where you have to set up some switches that pretend to be the foot brake and the emergency brake.

I have been through the Alpine DVD setup and it is a pain in the ass. I thought that I would have to do the same with this. However, it is much much easier. All you have to do is ground the wire that says "Parking" on it. Works like a charm. Good luck

This is true. However, I have been told that the ipod cable included with the DNX 7100 will not play video from the newest ipod (Gen 5.5 I think).

Okay I found a cable on eBay under P300V . It says that it will work with the Ipod tranfering music and video to the KENWOOD DNX-7100, but does not warn that it WON'T work for the latest iPod version (5th Generatioin). :confused:hmmm.

Avanasch, if you can see the photo, is this the cable that came with your DNX-7100? Did a cable come at all?

It appears that it is identical to the one that comes with the system. However, I don't much is going to look different even when an upgraded cable is released. I will look in my Kenwood manual and see if it says what cord (model number) comes with the unit.

OK, so I just installed this myself last night (took about an hour). Works and sounds great! Look on Amazon if you want this HU. I picked it up for $956.00.

Didn't do the ipod connection, yet. I didn't want to spend hours trying to find the parking switch and grounded out the parking switch wire to override the lockout.

Avanasch, nice install. I am looking into doing something similar myself. Any problems with putting the rear seats in upright position or functional issues with the subs back there? Assuming you can fully close the back seats, do you have vibration issues from the subs off the back seats in the closed position?

No problems at all. It is a tight fit and I am surprised that the sheet metal behind the rear seats doesn't rattle, but it dosen't. The rear seats still lock into place and they also fully lay down. Its a great fit.

Hey man, you've got a sweet system. So sweet I think I am going to copy most of it ;). Had a question on the head unit - does the new faceplate for the dash come with the headunit? Also, I am in SoCal and I want to buy all of this stuff online and have it installed (I am assuming this is a cheaper way to do it). Where is a good place to get the installation done? Don't have time to figure it out myself.

    Thanks,
    G
