The Maze District - Teapot Canyon Action

A few friends and I took our first big spring trip of the year, spending 6 days and 5 nights in a remote area of Utah known as the Maze district of Canyonlands National Park. It's a fantastic area, and about a remote as of a place as you'll find - especially as part of a National Park. there was much camping, hiking and backpacking to be had - all told, I put about 40 miles on my new set of hiking shoes, so it was a fine trip. Entering and exiting, you drive through an especially rough area of 4wd "road" through what's called Teapot Canyon. and I thought I'd share some video and images taken by the passenger and friend in my vehicle making our way through this area. (mine is the red taco)

some SERIOUS flex and squeak here - do all tacos get this squeak - my 2007 shared the same noise - my friends 2009 in this video sounds almost exactly the same.
Clearly the towball should have been taken off - too bad my keys were 10 hours north of me.

Geez you guys took those drops and climbs way hard! I wouldnt done that in my 1999 let alone a 2011. Looked awesome though!

 

Awesome, we took Poison springs road a ways and I really wanted to get into the Maze district and doll house but we didn't have enough time. Someday I will go back and spend a week back there.

Pretty ballsy without sliders. I think a lot of the squeak is just all the dust in the leaf springs. Spray them out real well with a pressure washer and then apply some dry lube spray like tri flow and you should be good to go. That link looks like a good suggestion as well.

 

Nice. Looks like a lot of fun. Wish I had 4WD.

 

So how much does the Bendy Taco Mod cost?
It looks like it would come in handy on tight turns.
