Go for it but keep in mind all the other crap you still need. The hood scoop parts are almost $100 and you'll have to have it painted to match. By the time you're done, you'll have almost $500 into that hood.

I can get a deal on the painting and installation but yeah just looked into scoop parts. Why can't this non functional scoop just be cheaper  . Guess I got a little excited for no reason

    Scoop MSRP $116.52
    Scoop Guide MSRP $16.95
    Scoop Plate MSRP $18.18
Maybe I'll just go rice-a-riffic with this. No scoop parts necessary

PS anybody in the Reno area with a white sport, I'll trade plus $$$

Someone here had a carbon fire hood. Didn't look bad.

I saw that one, I think it was one of the X Runners, it looked badass. I think you can get fiberglass hoods also but they're different shaped than the OEM so not a single scoop.

I work at a dealership and take care of the reconditioning for vehicles traded in. Alot of times if a hood has a dent or something very visible when we take it to the body shop its better for us to get a new hood and paint it rather than repair the old one. What im getting at is aftermarket hoods are priced very well ive seen them start at around $100 for a simple one and im sure the one you are looking at would be just fine.

So the only things needed after you get one of these hoods is the scoop guide and scoop plate?

Nah man, looks is a big part of the overall success of making oneself a complete and happy Taco owner. Not to say that Tacomas arent badass off the lot.

Maybe that comment would be more suitable for a spacer and block lift.

Did some looking myself and this is what I came up with. Someone try and confirm if you can...

    Sport hood : $98.03
    Scoop : $101.14
    Scoop guide : $14.78
    Scoop plate: $15.85

    Total of $229.80

    Does that sound about right?
