    North Korea isnt much threat I agree, but we are still at war with them in the sense that we have combat troops there in a defensive role. Same with cuba, and we also rotate combat troops in south america to fight the drug cartels.
    It is total bullshit.

    HA, funny you mention this, cause I had an old combat engineer platoon sgt who had an MOS that revolved around carrying a small tactical nuke in a rucksack. Of course the did away with the MOS, but it was introduced in the cold war. Where The individual was trained in setting the backpack nuke next to military complex's and learn to survive in a make-shift fallout shelter out of blast range.

    This has been an informative thread! I don't remember who posted it, but I have to agree that we can't (as a country) afford to wage war against Iran. While I believe they pose a much bigger threat than any other mideast nation, its just not sensible enough to engage in armed conflict with them. At this point and time anyway.....

    He had to be bullshiting you then. If such thing existed it wouldnt be a mos and the guy wouldnt be talking about it. A job like that would at least require a q clearance. Those arent just given out.

    Send an H-60 into Iran airspace and freak out because your fired on? All whilst your supplying Iran's enemy (Iraq) with heavy weapons to fight a war against Iran? Then shoot down a A300 because it wouldn't respond to your hales on emergency radios? Why would a civilian airliner even listen to their emergency freq unless they are in an emergency? The plane was never contacted on civil air channels thus had no clue that it was in danger. Any one of us could have been on that flight. Even today. They never even checked the A300's IFF once it took off. Just passed it into the wind as a F-14 and only contacted it as a military jet. They killed 290 people. You guys think if we had a united plane shot down IN OUR AIRSPACE we wouldn't be a little pissed off for a very long time? I mean seriously. We look like complete ass hats to these people and yet we question why they hate us.

    I wonder if things will turn for the worst in Korea as the Iran and Israel ordeal is going on now.. wouldn't that be a disaster? Two full out wars going on at the same time. I was watching some CNN videos earlier today and apparently the South Koreans are doing some military drills along the border again. What makes the North Korean threats different this time is that they have a new leader in control now.


    I wonder how all of this will turn out in the next couple of weeks. :popcorn:
