Thanks! Definitely agree with you on the settling, which should be expedited when I re-install my camper shell in a couple of weeks. (The new suspension has been installed less than 24 hours, and has only about 100 miles on it.)

 

Here is my 96 after the new rear leafs. Job didnt take to long, went in real easy. Truck rides much better, even seems smoother. Wonder if I can do this to the wife's rear end??

When I removed the leafs, both were marked as Right. Did anyone else have this problem??

 

Whoa. I didn't. Are the leafs OEM? Do they say MEXICO on them?

Did you have lean? Because one leaf is longer than the other, or at least they are for 2001-04. Not sure if that is true for 96.

 

Ohhh yeah it leaned, both were same size, and they were OEM. Must have been a Friday made truck.
The ride now is so nice, it is like a new truck. I just thought that was the way it was when I bought it in 98 at 2 years old.

 

After a LOT more visits to the shop and time on the alignment rack than I care to remember, I finally ended up replacing the steering rack bushings. While not happy with the unexpected cost, I couldn't be happier with the result. Highly recommended, if you have trouble getting a good alignment or your steering feels sloppy after installing your lift.

 

Yup, mine had a few degress of positive camber in the front after installing the matching coils. Was fine out on the highway, but it got a little darty out on the freeway and at those speeds.

 

Did you guys get new brake lines after you got your 5 leaf packs installed?

No. But need to. I have scared myself a couple times just cycling the axle to full droop to change shocks, etc.; it is very easy to max out the stock line. This has convinced me it is necessary and it is high on my list.

 

I think Wheeler's included a brake line with my kit. Is a new brake line easy to put on or should I let the shop do it for me?

 

If your OK with bleeding the brakes, it is a fairly simple process. Replacing the line will likely introduce air into the system. The brakes will have to be bled after that.

The leaves are side specific right? The end of the letters has a "L" and a "R", so I'm guessing those are telling me which side goes where
