    Are these worth the $8-$10/ea cost vs stock
    $20 Denso K16TR11 Spark Plugs, Pack of 4
    Denso K16TR11 plugs at ~$2/ea, Chris? (I'm thinking of your "Truth About Spark Plugs..." post.) I thought the only real benefit of Iridium plugs was long-life. Are there really other benefits in S/C engines?

    I hope lightning doesn't strike me for questioning your advice :eek:, but are you sure about the IK20 spec for 3.4L engines? I thought the 3.4L takes IK16 plugs. Are they interchangeable?

    The Iridium plugs are a colder heat range and are for use in the Supercharged Tacomas to reduce the chances of knocking. The IK16's are the OEM Copper dual electrode plugs, where as the IK20's are the Iridium, and recomended for the SC applications.

    General rule of thumb is to run 1 step cooler plug per 100 hp you add.
    If you're not running the 7th injector kit, as Chris mentioned, IK20's.
    If you are running the 7th injector kit, run the IK22's.

    Run the factory gap the plugs come with. If you want to get into tuning, I'd suggest you run the IK24's (assuming you have the 7th injector) and pushing the gap out .043" for a hotter spark.

    If you do start messing with the gap, don't use a traditional gapper. They will bend/break the irridium tips real easy. Use pliers and a feeler gauge or a spark plug gapping pliers like this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-900313/

    Chris is dead on.
    Run the 16's and you'll end up with high gear, low RPM ping leanout condition. If you wanna skimp out an run traditional copper plugs you can (but 1 range cooler), but why? It's only another $40 and if you do any amount of research on it, it's money well spent. Last I looked, Amazon has the best deal going on Denso irridiums.

    $8 denso ik20 iridium power spark plug, (pack of 1)
    denso ik20's and also im going with larger injectors.

    Larger injectors arn't going to help you (in fact it will hurt you).
    The fuel pump is the fuel restriction with the truck. Check out URD and look at their fuel upgrade options. If you don't have EGR, get the 7th injector kit with the piggyback is the only way to go. If you do have EGR, larger fuel injectors are the way to go.

    The install manual for the supercharger also indicates some pre-2000 Tacos may be equiped with it.

    Ok....Im not too familliar witht eh 3.4 in the Tundra. I havent seen any EGR equiped 3.4's in the Tacoma, and the FSM only has the 2.7 listed as being EGR equiped.

    Good point. Ive seen the instructions before, and had the :confused: face as to what vehicles with the 5vz had an EGR......anyhoo.....perhaps one day we will see the rumored 3.4 Tacoma with an EGR in it. Kinda one of those mysteries that you hear about, and have heard others talk about, but never seen one.. :eek:

    if im running larger injectors and a larger fuel pump why should it matter if i had an egr valve or not? either way i will be pushing more fuel.

    I was referring to the 7th injector kit. It utilizes the EGR port on the s/c. If you have EGR, you can't run the 7th. You should still look into a piggyback. The factory ECU only allows for 7* of timing retard, and even with more fuel and cooler plugs, high gear low RPM and WOT it's not enough retard and you'll get that painful ping sound of detonation.

    O ok gotcha yea i dont have an egr valve so i could run a 7th but ive got other plans and i may run the urd piggyback but ill see how it does without first.
