I do, but its not enough, I am riding the brakes like crazy, plus its windy as hell and I must admit, I do drive it a little fast. But I do take it down to 3 or 4 I just still miss the manual.

Mine is auto. Manual here with the V6 is not an option at all. Only the I4 has the manual option.

And even though it is an auto, I still use nearly all the gears all the time. Never had a tranny problem and never had to replace brakes in the first 100k.

Must have some steep ass grades. 4th hold me at 70 down a 6% + grade, and I even need to give a little gas.......

I understand that with the summits. I on the other hand do a ton of city driving for my job, so after shifting 6000 times a day for 12 years I was ready for an automatic. I have not a single regret choosing the automatic that coupled with the fact the only silver Rugged Trail double cab I could find was an automatic made the decision easy for me. :D

took me almost a year to find mind mine used in a 6sp. even dealerships didn't have them new with manual trans on the lots to test drive. every tacoma i see is automatic to the point where it pissed me off. And i don't live in a city. I live in deep in the colorado rockies.

i don't understand why trucks are all automatic trans now. manual give you so much more control and feel.

Thinking about it today I am glad I got an Automatic just because I remember bitching all the time about shifting. So its all good I guess. All that matters is that we have Tacomas.
