yeah i’ll risk it as well....

agree. they not right in my field of view but. i also hate at lights and hate when passengers leave it down. i don’t see why it is so hard to fold it up when you get out! lol also it does not block right around the rear view mirror. has the slid out things but you or someone ALWAYS forget and go to flip it up(if they flip it up) and it about brakes the mirror off.

also what i do when i drive dads tundra is leave the front windows down about 1” or so he has rain guards. the older kind you stick on to the paint. i want to in channel ones and ill do the same sometimes.

edit: by doing this it lets the heat out on it’s own.

Exactly why I tinted my windshield. I always hated putting them on and taking them off every single time. Now I just park and dip outta there, no extra weight and no worries of where to put it.

Garbage ............. you can have it for your truck. Not much better then that cardboard and foil you suggest. Why would you even make a post suggesting what you suggest in a thread like this.

Your "NEWB" comment to a poster here is lame to say the least. Spare me......

I'm sure Scott might be able to work something out, sounds like a good idea! I don't underdtand why some are posting negatively in this thread, the OP has a legitimate question and it seems others are interested in this as well, why criticize? That's something i would see on other forums i have been a part of and was glad that when i joined Tacomaworld it seemed like this forum wasn't like that.

I just picked up one of these auto expressions pop out sunshades from pep boys. Figured id at least try a standard one first before I shell out 50 bucks for a nice one. I like this one because it goes behind the rear view mirror so I don't have to flip my visors down. Also folds easily and stores neatly on the door pocket. My UVS100 finally showed up today. I threw it in the truck and snapped some photos. It's a very nice sunshade quality is good its thicker then the flimsy ones you get at auto parts store making it easier to fold up. My only complaint is that for a made to order item specifically for a certain vehicle they could of gotten the fitment alittle bit better. Maybe I'm just OCD about things but I feel they could of made it alittle bit wider.

I am a huge UVS100 fan, but I agree 100% that the fitment for this application is really poor. Almost like the truck got wider but they did t bother to update the pattern. I had one for my 2004 and I know it fit better than the one I just bough for my 13.

I had the UVS100 on my 2002 VW GTI and the fitment was real good. I am now hesitant looking at the fitment of the Tacoma. Anyone with a 2014 that has a UVS100? Might need to go a different route.

Fit is very poor on my 13 AC. Agreed that I have had many of these on different cars & this is the worst fit so far.

I emailed the manufacturer about this thread. Damn things are made to order so you think they can do some adjustments to address the fitment issues. I really like the accordion style and it really is effective in keeping out the Arizona heat. Will update if I get a response. Until then, my search continues.

I'm in NC, and we have some summer heat to battle as well. Another thing to consider is some side window vent deflectors. I leave my windows cracked and a good deal of the heat escapes without the rain getting in. Short of a remote start, It's the best thing I've found.

Here is the response from Car Cover USA:

We have had to adjust our fit on our UV's to the requirements of
the manufactures. It is normal for them to have a 1 1/2 inches
space on each side of the shield. The newer vehicles now have
sensors and back up camera's and additional equipment that require
more room to insert the shield without bumping the sensors under
the rearview mirror. We also have to allow room to install the UV
without crimping the edges or breaking down the inter-core board
of the UV. I hope you will are happy with you UV shield but if
not, you can contact Car Cover USA and ask about their return
policy. We appreciate you as a customer and your satisfaction is
    important to us.
