so someone who was an dick his/her whole life yet repents to god on their death bed is a morally superior person to someone who was a philanthropist and genuinely caring person, but did not waste their life abiding by the "commandments" of a book written by cave dwelling middle easterners.

repenting to God on your death bed is just that a death bed. the holy spirit through which is that of Christ must be present, anyone can repent half heartedly, it means nothing in Gods eyes. the only recorded death bed confesion is that of the thief who was crusified beside of Christ. repenting is not a means of ducking out of ones past, God does not promise unending happiness after excepting Christ in this world he actually warns us of greater trials and temptations to cross our paths. as for philanthropist and genuinely caring people, yeah by mans low standards they are good people but that does not cancel out a life full of mistakes, as is my own life, i will never be able to imitate a life like that of Christ, im not saying that when i look at someone i automatically decide since they dont follow Christ i despise them, i dont mean that at all. but for the God bless you, its a showing of love and care for another human being, to show concern for their lifes path not to be a slap to there face. as for the cave dwelling comment i honestly dont feel the need to address that because at one point and time man had no other means of shelter yet had enough common knowledge to get out bad weather so i veiw that as just hateful stereotyping.

when i say God bless. i mean if there be any troubles in your life may he help you through them to comfort you and grant you peace in time of a hearts war. dont take it as me pushing on you my own beliefs, but my way of showing care for your personal well being.

    God bless you.

I'm not their biggest fan, but they got a couple songs I really love. "Dear God" is one of them.

back in the 80's they saved many from the garbage playing on the radio. Dear God was likely their most "popular" and well known song

I wasn't around in the 80's so I wouldn't know. But I did hear that song on the radio a couple months ago.

why the ugliness in your posts in this thread?

we get it, you are not a believer...and I see no one here trying to convince you otherwise.

could you please be respectful of others' beliefs and less condescending?

    thank you.

Because i dont appreciate how your religion constantly insinuates that since i dont follow this "book" i am somehow a lesser human being? Would you not agree that is pretty disrespectful. I understand that this is all a fairy tale and not really true, but it is anoying at best when i am told that i will go to hell for living my life however i choose.

There are always two sides to every story and your side is wrong.

I see no one here suggesting such to you.

    Your posts in this thread...yes.

    I'll repeat:

why the ugliness in your posts in this thread?

we get it, you are not a believer...and I see no one here trying to convince you otherwise.

could you please be respectful of others' beliefs and less condescending?

    No disrespect of non-believers there?

That is total disrespect of humans, and very ugly to me.

I can not speak for Zack, but it appears he was giving his opinion and speaking in generalities.

I do agree with you that he could have chosen his words more carefully as not to offend.

No of us are perfect. We should all be kind to others, especially on a forum where most have other common interests.

btw, I see a short life for this thread moving forward.

Y'all have a wonderful night...I'm off to bed to read, where I'm deep in Paul's letters. Paul was one cool dude. :D

Yet this thread has gone on for coming on 4 years with lot's of "debate" and it was started by BOB ALMIGHTY so I'm betting it will not get locked since we are all thick skinned around here. :D

Feel pretty much the same, I was raised catholic then went epicopal (catholic light), now I believe in something but I dont follow the sheeple into the temples. Science has to much to offer me for me to disbelieve evolution, Darwin, Aristotle, Plato, Newton, Enstein, Da Vinci.

Speaking of rediculous books with rants by self righteous biggots. Anyone watch Colbert's interview last night?
