Thought I would contribute to the thread--Just bought my Ultra Gauge-
the wind shield mounts were back ordered, so I got one off Amazon.
It hooks perfectly to the back of the clip. No glue or tape required.
    http://www.amazon.com/Bracketron-SW...RDZ4/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1336169966&sr=8-3

I mounted it right onto the cluster.
Speed not important to me, since I have a manual.
    RPM's more important.

It is not intrusive, and I ran the wire behind the column and coin tray to the OBD port--So wires are hidden.

Can someone please tell me how this Ultra Guage compares to the Scan Guage and advise me on which one I should consider ?

    Thank you,

I've been doing research all day on it and I decided to go with the Ultragauge over scangauge, here are my reasons.

    1. Price
    2. Price
    3. Large screen
    4. Up to 6, (maybe 7:confused:) gauges on the screen.
    5. Price.

The only downside is I can not get trans temp which is something I really really wanted but not for 160 bucks and a tiny 4 gauge screen. And, I can wire that up myself when the time comes.

I know this is an old post but this is exactly what I was thinking of doing. Right now its just shoved in the pocket where my instrument cluster is until I figure out what I wanna do. How easy is it to see there when you are driving? I'm 6'1"

6 + loop indicator on the classic
    4 + loop, 6 + loop, or 8 on the EM

When above the rear view mirror, the cable length to the OBD2 port is almost perfect, and it doesn't look like a GPS for a smash-n-grab thief.

Current software supports EIGHT if you don't mind all 8 being smaller.

And it supports IIRC 6 or 8 pages... you can pretty much have everything it can display accessible. Personally, I've got mine set to toggle only two pages and 6 items per page.

Didn't realize you lose the loop indicator on the 8-panel display.

I feel like a dumbass because I have no idea how to work my UG. I have it on the default gauges and only use page one lol.

I have mine suctioned just under the dots right underneath the now-raised ImYo-mirror

might re-arrange it so it's off to the side while still able to use a sun-shade.

Try to remember to get a pic tomorrow

Just ordered mine last night. I'd like to get it mounted down low on the A-pillar.

I suppose that means you didn't endure their rebate process. They make you read the manual, take a huge online test on what's in the manual, then go plug it into the truck, go to a special page that spits out a ton of jibberish code, and copy its contents exactly into your browser. For nine dollars.

I was bored so I did it. It does serve a good purpose though, it gets you up to speed on its operation, and those random codes tell them what gauges work on your particular vehicle year and model so they can keep their database up to snuff.

I had it mounted low by the A-pillar on my Fit (the OBD2 port was by the gas pedal on that car so its cable length stopped me there). For driving, it was awesome because I barely had to take my eyes away from the road to read it. For parking, it sucked. It was totally visible, exposed to the sun which sent its internal temp sensor north of 170 a couple times, and I was always afraid it was going to get stolen. My 'solution' was a baseball hat to throw over the ultra-gauge and an NRA sticker to put over the suction cup mounting location on the mini side window.

U mean where the garage door opener door is?

You'd likely need an OBD2 cable extension. It barely has enough to reach above the mirror once everything is tucked.

It might be a bit far back to read easily as well. As it is I have to have it angled my way from the mirror location for a clear view, enough that a passenger cannot usually read it without craning his/her neck. It would be nice to hide it out of the way though.

I had to go through that process twice.

Got to the part where they want the codes, ran out to the truck to get them, came back in, and their web site had locked me out of the rebate "test" so I had to go back through the whole thing again.

They REALLY need to put that final question as the first, or indicate that "Prior to beginning this test you need to have 'this' information ready" like the DMV does when you renew your tags online.

So has anyone been brave enough to attempt to connect two units to the port at the same time?

I would love to have one display for engine functions and one for fuel economy and trip mileage information without having to scroll through the pages.
