I'm trying to take off my 7 pin connetor so that i can put on a 7 and 4 pin on. But i can't figure out how toget the 7 pin off the bracket and off the wiring harness.

Yeah I know. I'm sick of always trying to find where I put the adaptor last

If its factory, remove 2 10mm bolts from bottom of bracket and pull down on connector. Wiring harness you need to follow wiring up to grey connector and push on the release tab and pull apart. If its aftermarket cut the wires where accessible and rewire new harness.(this is for 05-09) 11-12 the connector is different you need a flat screwdriver to pry the little tab down and that will push the connector out.

Thanks. All this started with a buddy of mine that works at a ford dealership brining me just the 7/4 pin piece. I ended up having to buy a different wiring harness and the mounting bracket off an F150. Cut and modified the bracket and cut and soldered the wires together. Ended up working out pretty good.

If you do any offroading I would move it up into the bumper.

Most definitely. It took no time at all to rip mine completely off the truck driving through a desert wash. It's mounted through the bumper now.

I took out my left side lic. plate and put my 7pin there. I just had to trim some plastic off the plug and drill 2 holes. Some ppl drill a new hole just to the left of the lic. plate, but imo, that doesn't look as good.

I just ripped my bracket to pieces off roading in Ocotillo Wells...

I'm going to drill a spot in the bumper between the left plate light and the plate itself. I feel like cops will harass me if I don't have both plate lights.
