I would either go with a normal black paint job, in satin or something and forget about it. I mena you can go out and have it paint matched like some have said but the cost of that to end up going another route in the near future is fiscally irrisponsible, for that amount of money noone would want to repaint or lineX it after you have dropped that kind of coin. I would do a home pait job with a simple black spray paint, that way the cost is kept low and it can be touched up very easily. Then if you just cant take that you can drop the dough on the paint matching. I have a top off of another Tacoma in another color, but it looks pretty good being two toned. The truck is silver, but the top is black, so it looks right at home. Many people have said "man dont change it to silver, it looks awesome like that" and not that most peoples opinions matter much to me I think the same thing about it. It looks very cool now that I have the ARB up front and the bushwakers, the black theme is carrying well. I just need the factory black rear bumper to pull it all the way off! I wouls spray it first then paint match if you cannot take that look, but I bet you will like it! Good Luck! JOE>

Do that! I see line X and rhino liner on Jeeps and such around here. It fades out and looks like crap after awhile.

If it was a black shell and blue truck it would be okay as is, but not the other way around. I actually had a black shell on my desert sand truck for a trip and it looked okay. I would have kept it if it had the windoors on the side.

If you plan to got with paint, remove all the hardware that you can, Take nothing to the painter but a bare fiber glass shell. This will ensure there ar no paint lines or overspray.

Not sure of you cost, but have you thought of having the thing vinyl wrapped. Lots of options for color or schemes there.

I might do something today. I broke the back window and am ordering a new one with a new frame, so I will have to take it out anyway.

So while I am taking the back out I am thinking to take the other 3 off too and just spray it. I don't want to go the color match route because it is too much $ and I am going to beat on it. As it is I have already climbed on the roof to climb up onto the roof of our horse trailer, and I end up hitting it with kayaks and canoes pretty regularly. I think I am going to see how cheap I can get a bedliner product for, or just rattle can some glossy black onto it.
