Are there any bull bars for a 2012tacoma tx pro that do not require removing the factory skid plate? The skid plate on bull bars do not offer the protection that the factory plate offers. Appreciate any feed back. Thanks.

do you mean the black factory skid plate that comes on all models, or the silver trd one, i believe i've read the 2012 are slightly different from 2011 when it comes to mounting a bull bar, but i'm pretty sure that all 2005-2011 tacomas (i know yours is 2012) can add a bull bar without removing the black factory ski, I don't have the silver trd one, so I'm not familiar with where it mounts

Mine is the black in color skid plate.ive noticed the later year models are silver and have openings which would allow for the installation. I concerned about permantly removing the factory skid plate could create warrantry issues.

I really doubt that would cause a warranty issue.

No mud flaps, plasti dipped emblems, and rear bumper, Weather tech digital fit, Bed mat from tractor supply. Pioneer 4400BH head unit. B.A.M.F bed rail tie downs. AVS vent visors.
it wont cause a warranty issue. also the buss bar wont protect anything. if anything hits the front it will just make the damage worse!!

i think the silver one you are talking about aren't necessarily found in later years, they are an accessories option, and i think the 2 big holes are for access to your tow hooks (not positive) but I have a bull bar, and the mounts are actually on the steel beams, not interfering with your skid plate

I believe he means the silver TRD skid plate, which the TX Pro comes with.

To the OP: although the factory TRD silver skid plate looks good, it's not near as tough and durable as you may think. I don't kow from personal experience, but other members who offroad a lot say the silver TRD skid plate is basically tin foil. If you want to keep the factory silver TRD skid plate and get a nice bull bar, look into the Avid Offroad light bar.

I was kinda thinkin the tx pro would come with the silver one, but he said his was black, regardless, this member says you can put a bull bar over that one too
