2009 wiring help, who has a diagram ?

ok guys, i pulled my 09 stereo out, in preperation for the new dnx5120 i have

however there is 4 plugs in the back of the radio, 1 i know is for the aux inputs, however there is still a bunch of other wires that go into the plug that i dont know what they are. there is the 2 plugs that have adaptors for, which is the power and the speaker leads out. Does anyone know what the third plug is for, its black, i assume maybe steering wheel controls, but i really am not sure. i would like to know what wires from the aux plug are what signal wires so i can tap into them and use the factory aux jack for my new player

who has a stereo pin out for the 09's ? ist a non jbl single disc player

This shows all of the plugs, the one on the far right is the wires coming up from the AUX input... and the 2 on the left are for the power and speakers

This picture shows the wires going into the factory aux input, but there is 5 for some reason...

 

Well there needs to be at least 4 wires for the aux (right +, right -, left +, left -.) Since it is an 09 one connector may be the pre-wiring for satellite radio (not positive.) And steering wheel controls (which like you I would assume is the black connector.)

haha its ok.... the thing thats throwin me off is that there is 5 wires on the aux connector....

 

From the way the 5th wire is taped it is safe to say that it is a ground and it is the shielding from the cable.

I installed my Pioneer AVIC-Z2 in my 09 Taco, but I didn't mess with the aux port... though I'd be interested in finding some more information. I do know that on one of those two "extra" connectors, I had to tap into two wires so I could use my steering wheel controls. I bought a PAC SWI-PS steering wheel adapter, as it works with my Pioneer. I think you would need a

$45 PAC SWI-JACK Steering Wheel Control Module Designed for Clarion, Kenwood, Alpine, JVC and Blaupunkt

PAC SWI-JACK for the Kenwood.
I can't remember which of the two I had to tap into, but it was something like pins 6 and 7 on one of them that I had to connect the 150ohm resistor. I just stripped them back a bit and soldered (or you could wrap and tape) the resistor between the two. The full instructions come with the PAC units and are pretty easy to install once you figure out the diagram.
I would like to use the aux port as well, but I haven't done any more research lately...

 

i tore the aux port apart when i got home from work today... there was a circuit in side with 2 little resistors in it. My guess is that is why the factory aux input is such low volume level and they are putting to much resistance on it and knocking down the signal voltage. the resistors have 153 and 332 printed on them

anyways, here is what im doing, removing the circuit and epoxying in the new cable so i can use the port. no cut wires and still factory location and look.

now all i have to do is get to radio shack and get a connector to hook up my reverse camera and ill be good to go.

I've got my new deck wired with the power/speakers. The White larger plug (4th) is the where i'd attach my pac to control my steering wheel. The little black plug (3rd) is that for the aux?

Did anyone ever figure out which wires to tap to retain the stock aux plug?

I can confirm that the larger white plug on on the right in White91Formula's first picture has the wiring from the aux port AND the steering wheel controls. I tapped into pins 6 & 7 on that connector for my PAC device (it's the red/white and purple/white wires, right next to each other, on the back row of that connector looking at the pic).
As far as the Aux port goes, I didn't bother tapping into it because I'm using an iPod adapter with my Pioneer.

 

what i ended up doing was i disassembled the the aux jack as you can see in the pics above. i found that there was a circuit board in there and i didnt want to just tap into any wires with risk of burning something up. so i disassembled it and took a femail headphones jack (came with my dnx5120) and epoxied it into the factory aux port so that the female part of the cable was in the hold on the factory aux port and called it a day. i connected the other end of the wire to the aux port on the back of the deck.

the expoxy is strong enough to hold the piece in place and let me put my cable in and out, and appears to be 100% factory, however if i ever want to return it to stock i can just break the epoxy off since its only on plastic and put the factory circuit back in to hook it up to the factory deck.

That's brilliant! I was half debating on doing the same thing if that was the easiest option. Glad i was on the right track.
Do you have any photos of said process? I assume it was pretty easy to disassemble the factory aux jack without broken plastic going everywhere?

just make sure that you slide the big plastic thing over the wire before you epoxy it so that you can reattach it to the front part that says aux.... that way you can clip it back into the truck

 

white91formula - The 5 wires going to your OEM lower AuxInput are color coded this way: White-Left ch, Red=Ground, Black=Right ch, Black(taped)= 12VDC grd, & Blue=12VDC+(blue wire is powered from HU). That extra Violet/White wire is for AutoSpeedLevel on 2009 OEM HU. The lower aux-input has a noise-filter, which explains the PCB & blue +12VDC wire. OEM aux-input jack should work okay with the new HU, even with no power, that filter may have been an issue with the OEM Delphi HU's...

Your solution was a safe bet, I'm curious tho, do you have to crank up the volume when using the Aux Input with a MP3 player? I have a 2009 regular cab 4x2(no stg whl controls) & will be replacing my HU shortly(see below link). I plan to use the OEM aux input, when I hook it up I'll test the blue wire with a VOMeter. I'll also try lower aux-input without power & with, to see what works best with my new HU.

subscribed. Great work. I wanted to reuse my port but didnt think to do it this way. I will be doing a 9140 in january.

 

i ended up fabricating a bracket and putting the input from the stereo into the factory aux jack and it looks like factory but it goes directly into my kenwood dnx5140

all of my stock wiring is still in tact behind the dash if i want to put the stock radio in for some reason. and yes i did have to crank the volume with the factory aux and mp3 player, but that is no longer a issue

surface-mount resistors inside. I'd like to see the schematic for the internals. I'm wondering if maybe they have something to do with the AUX Enable line...
