That's the plan when I get the chance.

Know of any helpful/knowledgeable web sites I can use as a guide?

Anyone here ever had experience with buying rolls from banks, searching through them for silver, and then returning them?

Seems lame, but a good way to feed the fire.

Any recommendations on what to ask the bank tellers for? Halfs? Quarters? Is there possibly any 'old' boxes at banks that would have a higher probability of finding a couple gems? Or is their stock pretty well rotated.

Have been working as a teller for the past 2 years and in the past 7 months these have trickled in through rolls and customers.

    Nothing spectacular.

    14 Morgans
    6 Peace
    10 Dimes (1 Olive branch)
2 Nickels (I don't scout these often, never have time to check the dates)
    13 Washington Quarters
    25 40% Kennedy half dollar
    1 90% Kennedy half dollar

I can help with any questions some one has as to how to go about getting a teller to do something for you.

some members of the older generations are set on a dollar being the value of a dollar,
this lady brought the 20 coins in and i told her they probably are worth more, but she just wanted to go buy gas.. so i was like KAY. 5 min later in my pocketz.

it doesn't happen very often, we honestly try to tell them to go somewhere else where they can get more $, but they don't listen. had a lot of indian pennies come in one day with some steel pennies IIRC, they got scooped up quick. non in good condition though.

we hear about people going to walmart and the cashier having them in their tills and the customer asking for them and trading 1/1$ for them. also had a gentleman come in said he bought some picture at a auction his wife liked, and when he took it out of the frame, he found 1.1k between pic and frame.

What's a good source to find the value of foreign paper currency? I went to a coin show and got the idea the guys I showed them to were trying to lowball me. Ebay had some similar bills but the asking prices were all over the place. Mine are well used condition mostly.

Same question for coins. Mom had some in safe deposit box. Most worn, but old.
