I wanted 2 get the 2.5 fox or icon coil overs but i wanted 2 know if i can lift them to 3.0 or 3.5 in like the extstended coil overs? thanks. I also know you need new UCA since it will put stress on the ball joints.

You "can", but the ride would cause your passengers to want to kill themselves....

I have my icons set at 3 inches. Rides a little rough, but I did that the same time I added a winch and plate bumper. I really didn't notice much difference from the stock setting.

I mean, to answer your question, yes, you Can do that, however, as stated above, the ride will be horrible. My tire guy did it to me when I installed my Bilstein 5100's with OME 885's, he put the billies at the 1.75 setting, my truck was extremely bro-tastic then. Bounced like crazy and I had DSMS on the phone basically telling me to not go over any bumps and it was NOT good.

So yea, go for it bro, if you're not offroading at all, throw in like a 3 inch coil spacer too!

I have mine set at a little over 2.5. Its still rough. When I had them at almost stock height it rode like a caddilac. My theory was to get some longer soft springs like some OME's and install them on em... that way I wouldn't have to crank em up. As it sits now at about 2.5", its plenty bearable.... and when you kick up to speed it really smooths out.

On the other hand, I have a friend that got 700 pound springs and cranked em to 3" and I swear theres absolutely no give in his front end. Only thing rougher I've ever ridden was a forklift. He did it with intent to get a bumper eventually.

FWIW: My 2.5" crank still rides softer than the 3" pucks I had :D I have 600# springs

i am not sure what pound springs are on mine, i have the extended travel icons and have had mine at 3.25" for 52,000 miles with no trouble. maybe i am lucky, but my ride is not harsh. when i first put them on i drove them for a day at 3.75" now that was bad, i was not going to keep them like that anyway was just fooling around. i ordered mine from cbi offroad when i got my bumper from them.

    LOL, yea

honestly, at 3.75" they rode fine but, if you hit a big bump it was rough.
i just knew it would wreck my ball joints so i turned them back. i just had them like that for about 12 hours.

Another thing to consider is the differences between the fox and icon coil overs. Icon uses a digressive system so its a bit rougher until you hit a good bump, and they soften up. I believe that fox uses a progressive system and therefore will be softer and will get progressively stiffer. So if you compress the springs on a fox to get more lift, then the ride would get rougher. Likewise the bigger the bump, the stiffer they get. At least thats how I understand it. But, I've been wrong before. But it would explain why I didn't notice any change when I cranked up my icons from the stock setting of 2.5 to 3.

Sounds about right... at least in my case. Pre load still is such a big factor tho....but mine definitely smooth out at highway speeds.
