I researched, yes in am an idiot when it comes to tires.... But currently I have a ome 885 with1" shim up front, and a toytec aal 2" in back. I have 265/75 16's general grabber ht's ... And it looks stupid imo. I know that 265/75's are a little bigger, but I don't really want to spend 600 bucks and have it look stupid with just more aggressive tires. What would you guys buy? Size wise

2006 Tacoma trd off road, 265/75 16 standard tires

285 if you dont mind some trimming, 275 if you want to split the difference

imo look thru the build threads on here and find something you think looks good and copy the heck out of it =)

^ +1. be careful with 285s if you have the oem wheels. you'll end up rubbing on the uca.

I'm confused, I thought that the middle number was tire heighth. I want a higher tire, not wider. I read the tire sizing sticky on here and still dont grasp it.

EDIT: Never mind, I get it now

285s will rub one thing or another. w/o adapters, they will rub the uca. with adapters, you'll rub the cab mount if you off-road the truck or hit curbs/bumps at certain angles. best thing to do is get eh cmc done. it's a straight forward job for any welder.

Ah, ok thanks. Seems he already did a lot of work prior to putting on the 275's. At that rate, might as well go with 285's like how you're planning.
