Buy a G-Shock GIEZ model. You will need to get it from E-Bay or some other online source as some are sold only in Japan. Solar powered, set by satellite transmission, and pretty much indestructible. I'm going on four years with mine. Here's a link to a picture.

Solar powered is nice. I've had 2. Two because 1 died though. First one was GW-300. Solar, atomic clock syncing, automatically set the time, automatically turned on the back light when I rolled my wrist to look at the time, and other features. Damn thing stopped holding a charge though. I put it in the sun today nearly a year later, and it actually fully charged based on the indicator. Thought I'd brought back from the dead until I wore it for 10 minutes and saw the display had turned off and the charge indicator was flashing.

I think it's going to become a gun target now.

Must not be a real popular brand (at least on TW), but I wear a Skagen, mostly bc its one of the thinnest watches I've ever seen

Go with this one: GW2310FB-1 nice looking watch and reasonable price. Believe it or not, check Target and Wal-Mart. They sometimes have nice G-Shock selection for less than online.

I usually bounce back and forth between a Tag Heuer Aquaracer 300m and an Omega Seamaster James Bond edition as my daily watches. I must say that I do like the Tag better than the Omega. Currently saving up for an Omega Planet Ocean Chronograph with ceramic bezel in Orange.:D

Not exactly a "watch", but I got this for my dad today at a local jewlery store I bought a watch at:

Only difference is, the one I got my Dad is made of all metal, and the canopy is black:

Well, Ive seen Cmacks watch in the past, the one shown above, and in my quote, and think it looks pretty cool. I wanted a Momo Designs watch, thats very similar, but Black, and Titanium, so I went to the local jewlers where I have gotten good deals in the past, to see if they carry it. They did, so I bought it. As they were ringing it up, I saw a Hamilton watch display, with this plane. After doing some research, I found they dont sell them. One was given to an individual as a gift, and the other sold on Ebay for $555.94 (350 pounds for Cmack :p ). The ones I found were made of resin. I called the store owner, and told him I would like to buy the display, if allowed. I offered $150.00 as thats all I had. I explained that I wanted it for my Dad, as years ago, My Dad and some of his friends rented a few of these planes (Extra 400?), and went flying. My Dad had a blast! After that, my Dad had a heart attack, and as a result, lost his pilots license, and is no longer cleared for Pilot status. We hung up, after he said "I'll see what I can do". I went home and did more research on the display peice, and found no way to get one. The one in the store was solid steel, and about 2 pounds, or more. I also found that hamilton has to approve the store for the store to BUY it! Further, there is no info online anywhere for about the steel one. No manufacture markings, no "Made in" bla bla. So.....If they said "No", I was SOL. Anyway, Yesterday, the store manager called me up, and said that they will sell it to me, and the owner wants to meet me and my Wife. we showed up, met the owner, and talked with him about my Dad, and his flying career for a bit. His then had his manager come around from the back, with a box, and handed it to me, and said "Let me know how your Dad likes it". :) If you can find another online (made of Steel, not resin), let me know! They are extremely rare!
Still think this is one of the coolest watches I have seen! This is the one I got:
