    3" Ready Lift, bull bar, KC Daylighter front bumper lights, running boards, Weathertech window/hood deflectors
    Just purchased the Kenwood DNX-8120, wiring harness, Scosche double din dash kit, and
    $46 PAC SWI-Jack Steering Wheel Control Module Designed for Clarion, Kenwood, Alpine, JVC and Blaupunkt
    PAC SWI-Jack kit for the steering wheel controls. I've talked to Best Buy, and have been quoted 3 different prices from the same Best Buy on the 3 different times I have talked to them.

    They've quoted me between 150-200 on the head unit install, and 50-75 on the steering wheel control install.

    Is this a fair install price? I have absolutely no desire to try and tackle this myself.

    Any comments would be appreciated.

    I just got done installing a DNX5120 in an 09 Access Cab and although I didn't calculate the time for the headunit alone (did a whole system) I don't think it took more than a couple of hours including the steering wheel control module. In any case I would check some other shops as that is high considering you already have all the parts.

    Do it yourself! It's really not that hard at all, follow the instructions and read up on some write ups on this site, I had no trouble at all besides getting the dash kit to fit properly! :D

    i was in the same boat with my dnx5120, best buy said 200$. i said no thanks ill do it myself. after me and my buddy got done i realized how rediculous it was to charge 200$ to put it in. it was simple just take your time and try it yourself. all the wires are color coted and match right but, besdies the ones you dont use. just my .02

    Best Buys install price for indash video units is $100, $150 if the unit has an external brain box, but I havn't seen one of those in 2 years. Steering wheel control interface install is $70 (not that its hard, but usually a pain in the butt program). The dash kit is $39.99 for the tacoma, wire harness is $21.99.

    you can do it yourself and there are some amazing write ups on here thatll make it a cinch and theres especially a really good on for the steering wheel controls by acozzens which is the only place i had some trouble doing, and for soldering i just bought a little butane lighter with a soldering piece
