Chrome vs black

What color is your truck? Mine is red and I am in the process of black it out.no chrome for me.

 

Just do as I did, pull them all off and deposit them in the round file!!
No need to paint them. The paint will just fall off of the chrome.
If you do want to paint the chrome badges first etch them with muriatic acid(rinse, dry) and paint. I did my chrome rear bumper that way.

 

The badges are plastic......I am still debating putting them back on - I kinda like the clean look but the Mrs. HAD to say - "MEH - Looks boring to me without them"......damn

My Taco is Bright White and I am looking to do the StormTrooper look - White with black accents.....

 

How do you guys take them off so easy?

 

Fishing line. I left them on and plastidipped them. So easy

 

Whoever posted the 20 lb fishing line trick was a freaking genius. I tried 7 lb test useless, dental floss also a fail. A spool of 20 lb test was $3 at WalMart only needed 2 feet. Slide the line behind the badges and "saw" up n down to cut the adhesive.
I then GooGoned the sticky remnants. Use the citrus stuff as it is easier on the paint.

 

How do you guys usually put them back on to stay?

black it out man…. I'm headed towards blacking mine out…

 

I think it depends on color of your truck... But like someone said earlier, the chrome and Silver don't really go together, so I'm blacking mine out...

Call me old school then. Murdered out is sweet, no doubt! We see plenty of them, but not as many as Tacos with Chrome. I personally enjoy spending time polishing my chrome pieces, no pun intended! Either way, great ride man! Im going chrome, FYI. Keep y'all posted, out!
