Billy, Do you have a recommendation for a license plate flip bracket that actually fits the holes in the bumper? :D Can't get mine to work. Lol

From what I can tell - the holes in the bumper line up for the license plate only.

You will have to drill a new set of holes for a flip bracket unless you come up with some sort of custom adapter.

I've looked at several flip brackets and they all appear identical to me.

Yeah you have to drill new holes to mount the flip up bracket. I do not think you will find one that will fit into those preexisting holes. You'll also want to do testing to make sure you can flip up the plate with no problems as well as clear the hitch.

I modified the $15 bracket to fit the holes .. but then it was too high to flip-up and I needed a break. I will tackle this again soon, but I'm pretty sure it can be done with minor modifications.

Mine is the same way. Its just that metal on metal rubbing and the fact that the hole is pretty small so its hard to get a lot of paint in there. I don't see it as being a problem, just get a lil surface rust

Ok cool beans :) Dropping off shackles to get powder coated..probably industrial red...they said they rarely do white..plan to ask them to sandblast the whole thing then not powdercoat the pin and prime/paint that myself.

I just drilled the bumper to match the flip up brackets. Actually, a bit smaller diameter. Then I used a couple of the lower skid blate self tapping screws and threaded a new hole that way. Just got to make sure you drill the new hole smaller than the self tapping screw or it won't have any metal to tap. squirat a little wd 40 when you are drilling and again when you do the tap screw and it will work fine if you take your time and press hard. when i did the layout for the screw holes I gave it about the same distance from top to bottom for the bracket.

I had extra self tapping screws from the skid plate as, like most of us, we have beefed up the underside protection. The metal is not too hard and even a slow speed drill cuts OK.

A lot of guys probably know about this - but try putting a couple of rubber washers in there when you mount them - no rattle! :D

Look for ballcock shank washers in your plumbing supply:
