30k Maintenance

    White Head Light mod, White shorty antennae, Doug Thorley Long Tube headers, AFE Drop in air filter, Secondary Air Filter Removed,
    Alright, the time has come for my 27K mile maintenance! Here is what I plan on doing:

    Change the diff fluid
    Change transfer case oil
    Change oil and filter (Mobile1 Filter with 0W-20 Mobile 1)
    Install AFE dry pro filter
    Rotate Tires
    Grease/"Torque" drive shaft
    Clean the throttle body
    Make/Replace cabin air filter


    Now for my questions:

    Since I have the I4 I donot need to worry about spark plugs, correct?

    Since I have 4x4, does anything need done with the tansfer case?

    Do I need to do anything with the clutch/tranny due to the 5 speed?

    are you gonna run synthetic?? even if not....i'd still change the transfer case oil.

    Yes forgot to mention synthetic everything. Also somewhere in the depths of TW i read about additive for smoother shifting. Anyone know what that was? Redline?

    Anyway I have no problems with the smoothness of the shifts, its just a little clunky (what i expect from a truck) and hard to get into certain gears in certain situations.

    switch the clutch fluid over to synthetic.....should make for crisper/smoother shifts, get into gear easier.

    Ok I have absolutely no idea where said fluids are located, much less what viscosity, even what its called haha

    :smack:Any recommedations for tranny fluid?


    Also Any good oil 75W-90 (mobile1, etc) will work for diff, Tcase right?

    Edit: The reference of clutch fluid never even remotely crossed my mind as tranny fluid! my bad

    I changed all my fluids to synthetic at 10k. You don't need to worry about the spark plugs until 100k. We have iridium plugs that will be good for 100k.

    I have a 2WD so I did not have to worry about the transfer case. I guess you can change the fluid in the transfer case. I used this site as a general reference.

    mt90 for your "tranny" should be fine..........or a 75w90 may work too...check with chris to be sure. and for the diffs and transfer case......75w90 is great....mobil1 is great too. thats what i run.

    And i fill it via radiator, correct:p

    Mobil 1 75-90 will work fine in the tranny. Fill it via the defroster vent.

    Nope! An mt90 is a good fluid. :) Mobil 1 75-90 is better.
