I am in the process of trying to add a second set of factory D-rings to the bed, up near the front. I drilled the hole exactly where the instructions said to, up on the side. Everything seemed fine, but I can only tighten the bolts into the nuts with the square plate so far. The square plates are still movable from the backside of the bed when the bolt is as tight as it gets.

Is this the way it is supposed to be? Should I get some large washers to fill the gap so I can actually tighten it? It does not seem right for them to be so loose. Both sides are exactly the same.

Thanks for any experience or help you can give me.

I want the D-rings up the side of the bed a couple of inches, like the instructions say. Not using the bed bolts like that link. Too often I am trying to hold stuff down that covers the bed bolt location on the bottom of the bed.

I found a thick galv washer that worked fine, so all is good now.
