x187654 on the bed mat. Works great and cheap. You can also sell it if you ever get rid of the truck.

I just put the brand new $100 bed mat in the back of the Taco. Its really nice to walk into the bed and not feel like Bambi... :D :D :D
Anyway, I also hauled my adventure touring bike about 50 miles. It seems the tailgate may be ok (at least for easy highway driving and the occasional pothole), although I meant to measure the deflection of it sitting with bout250 lbs dead center of the tailgate, I will get it next time. Man, does that bike dwarf that pickup!
One weird thing did happen. The bed mat seemed to slip backwards about an inch durring or after the trip. I didnt notice until I tried to put the tailgate up when I thought that the friggin tailgate was going to bent! :ohsnap:
Anyway, I may try to anchor it one way or another if it does it again and I can figure out why... Maybe front brake use guiding the bike down the ramps...

A bolt two big washers and a nut are all you need to anchor the mat. Several members on here have already done it. Also prevents people from grabbing it out of the back of you truck when parked outside.

Stupid question here but for those of you with the bed mat, do you have/need to attach them some how to keep them from blowing up/out when going thru a car wash per say?????

Yes, but I actually had mine blow out on two non consecutive times due to the dryer at the end of the wash. One 3/8" stainless steel bolt and fender washer later, and it's secure.

That was my concern. When I get mine I'll attach it to the bed and call it good. Thanks for the info.

Some guys have done the " add d ring " mod to the front bed bolts and bolted through the mat for anti-theft purposes

That would suck if you wanted to take the mat out though

On my 10 Tacoma, what can that tailgate hold? I don't haul stuff often but I have a 400 pound tractor I need to transport in the near future. I have ramps..should I put them on the tailgate or just remove the tailgate to do this?

Adding and extra set of D-ring's actually sounds like a pretty good idea. When I get my mat I'll have to look into that. Thanks for the idea.

Since there is no real worry of the bed rusting I don't know what I'd ever take the mat out for anyway.

I take it out if I'm putting soil in or something similar , also it's good to take out to clean underneath occasionally

That would make sense but if I ever needed to haul that kind of stuff I've got my Superduty for that sheet.

I see you're from BC. I was up that way this past Thanksgiving at the World Cup even in Lake Louise. Wait, is that BC or Alberta? I know it's right on the edge of both. My wife's a dual canuckian. :)

I knew it was close but I couldn't remember if we saw the sign before or after. I think that is one of the most beautiful parts of North America. We stayed in Banff 8 days was a very fun trip.

DoorDing, that's a pretty good idea.
