    Yet another lift/tire size thread...

Here goes, I want a small lift all the way round, I am thinking add a leaf to the rear and 1500s in the front. I would like 285/75/r16's on stock rims with spacers. WILL>>>THIS>>>WORK? lol If not what are your suggestions?

BTW this is my first post other than the noob section, I am new to tacomas as this truck was just bought but I have lifted my old 95 4runner.

Push your local toyota dealer while still under warranty for tsb leaf pack, then get tsb add a leaf. Then 5100's up front. You need approx. 3" of lift. Spacers on stock rims sounds about right to push your wheel and tire combo away from control arms and such.

Hey guys I just sold my 4runner and have a little extra dough to throw on the truck. I have decided to change up my plans a little bit. I would like to go with 265/70/r17's with billies up front and eventually in the rear as well. I have decided to also go with some new wheels with these being my current choice.

    http://www.4wheelparts.com/Wheels/S...s=210&t_pt=100073&t_pl=5356&t_pn=PXA7005-7883

I tried searching but I had a hard time finding people running this particular setup and when I did they would be on stock rims. This truck will not being going offroad very often but I would like it to perform well when it does. Will this setup involve any trimming or other mods? In the meantime I just got assigned my new company car that is decent offroad :D

I don't have 5100s but I do have those wheels and 265/70/17 tires. Check my sig pic and imagine the front a tad higher haha (that picture was taken on a hill also)

No problem! I had to remove the front ones or else the tire would rub a little. I also removed the front little flap shown below. No cutting just unscrewing a few screws

    Stock...for now
If you get 285's you will need to get spacers so you will not rub.

I have a 3" front and 1.5"rear lift, just did 285/75r16 today and I had to trim the inside of my front flare due to rubing when turning.

265/75/16 mounted on 16x8.5 rubbed even with the front mudflaps removed when I turned all the way and hit a slight bump (like turning into my driveway). These tires are the same size diameter as your 265/70/17.
I now have 5100s set at 1.75 in the front...4 factory leafs in the rear. And no rubbing and it rides much better than stock.

I believe it is general consensus that 285s will still rub even with a 2.5-3" lift and will require some minor body trimming

Ultimate Toytec Lift, 3" in front, with new Dakar Leaf Pack in the rear. Running 285/75/16 on stock rims. Only had to trim inner fender plastic slightly.

Had spacers in the front but wanted new coilovers.

Ive seen a couple pics of your truck. Let me make sure i have this right, you have 8.5" wide rims with 265/75/16 and bilstein 5100 up front set at 1.75"? It looks taller than that maybe its the pic angle. Nice looking tacoma.

i just did the 1.75" 5100 deal with tsb and I couldnt be happier...

im currently looking for rims... they really set this lift apart from how it sits now with stock offroad rims...

    nice looking truck man!
