OK, my wife has a 2005 Rav4 with the regular wheels (I believe steelies). This is Tacoma related b/c if I don't fix them she is threatening to swap rims with my 2010 Tacoma haha...

What should I sand the rims with? Wire wheel? She doesn't so much care about any pitting but there is some rust on them.

Would I be better served to have the tires broken down and taken off first? We just got them last summer brand new. Is there any other issues besides painting that I need to know about if I leave the tires on?

What color paint do they use, just silver..can I just rattle can them?

What do I use to prime them?

First time in my life I've tried this, sorry for all the questions and thanks!
