I installed a new HU last thanksgiving, and have been having difficulty getting the sound right. Recently I noticed a rattling sound on the driver side. It doesn't seem like a blown speaker since the sound is still good and not all distorted.

It almost seems like a screw is loose or something. I do have a reg cab and thought it might be the window crank but doesn't seem to be it. its cold and snowy out so I don't want to take my panel apart. Anyone experience this?

    note:Still stock speakers.

Not sure but the door panel is very easy to take off. Replace your speakers anyway it will sound so much better

Thanks for the reply. I would love new speakers but don't have the funds. tires are a priority since my studs won't be street legal soon.

How complicated is taking off the door panel? Iv done all the work on my truck myself so far...(mostly electrical), but was hoping to only have to remove the panels once I was able to afford new speakers. Unless that is, if anyone else has had this issue and I would be required to take off the panels.

Taking off the door panel only takes a few minutes. I think *********.com has an how to video. Take out two screws, take the sail panel and there is one plastic push clip thingy. After that pry the panel off starting from the bottom, all the clips will pop lose then lift the door panel straight up, unplug two or three wiring harnesses and your done. I can literally do it in less than two minutes, very easy. If you installed the head unit yourself then you will have no problem taking off the door panel

Thanks, yea I did install the headunit myself. Didn't really think it would be too hard to take the panel off. I had to do it a few times in my old truck. If its not balls cold out I give it a run and hopefully it will end up solving my issue.

On a side note my poor baby wont even turn over sometimes. Think it is the starter...

Like others have said, pulling the panel is easy. Not crying when you see the POS OEM speakers in the door is the hard part.
