    installing 5125s in the rear w/ the aal. cannot get the bottom of the shock to go back in the bolt housing... its like the rubber is too thick. any suggestions?

    Lube it. If that doesn't work, file the bushing down (rough file/rasp would do it quickly). No biggie.

    4.56 gears, rear trutrac,DT header, 235/85r16 Duratracs, 2nd filter pulled, inter.wipers, Cruise control, Factory alum. whls/winter tires(2nd set), Afe pro Dry-S , Dumbo eared flaps cut down.
    Grease or a decent lube, also clean the inside for a better slide. Compress it a bit more than you think, but guide it a little more to the inside, so it sorta drops straight down and in... it tends to glide outward.

    just did 5100s and same issue.

    Dude, you're this close, get a big screw driver (or something similiar) stick it in what hole you have showing & just pry it around until it lines up, if it's still looking like it does in pic don't pull it back out,just line it up, it'll go trust me..

    Shave it a little bit if you have to... I did on my rear bushings and my truck hasn't blown up in a fireball of disaster.

    I have a small 14" bar or such, lever at one end, spike like for bolt holes on the other. It was handy. Not sure what the proper tool name for that is.

    Iron workers spud wrench IIRC, they're used to line up bolt holes on steel structures beams to bolt up...I got one & its perfect for lining up providing theres enough hole showing to stick it in.. (thats what SHE said too !!,haha)

    now - how tight do i put the top washer? i dont have a torque wrench but not sure how flat to make the rubber washers/bushings at the top of the shock.

    Once the bushing starts to compress go 3 more full turns

    I never got that answer, but I went 8 threads down,Chris4x4 (mod) has a writeup so I went by the photo since I couldn't use a torque wrench on it....il link.

    Thats the animal !! works great !!

    About 40 ftlbs but since you don't have torque wrench, I'd just snug it down & call it good (hasn't failed me yet )

    Ya i would think you dont want to compress the bushing to much. Old man emu installation instructions say 3 full turns after the bushing starts to compress, so probably around 15-20 ft/lbs if i had to guess
