I have been rockin the hooligan for almost 8+ years and freakin love this tent
    Complete waterproof
The vestibule is the best I have seen
By far my all time favorite for the price think I paid $70 back then

    Yup
    Just stating first hand exp.
I use this tent about 30+ days a year for over 8 years and been through some serious storms and I'm high n dry
    And the vestibule is perfect
Others are plain just stupid design
    Good luck
Lets me know what u get been looking for another for some time

Having my new tent just sitting on my truck was driving me nuts so I had to test it out this weekend. Trip report: cold and rainy!
I tried to make the most of it but I really wished I had better weather.

You don't like my neighbors?

The RTT was good, the rain sucked big time. My tent was drenched so I had to open it up to dry when I got home. All in all good, no problems really. And it was pretty cozy.

Oh I like the neighbors, in fact I'd like to shoot them, dress them out and then grill them up :hungry:

No issues with seams leaking on the tent? In fact...do they need to be seam sealed when we take delivery of the RTT's or is that already done?

The tent seams were good - they are taped - and the fabric held up well but I did have a lot of condensation inside this morning. The seams on the rainfly aren't taped though so I did have a little water running down near the door. All in all I wasn't surprised or disapponted...I don't think anything is meant to withstand a 18 hour rainstorm!

I think I will be investing in some water sealer soon though

And don't shoot the deers! They weren't afraid of me at all. And they were swarming everywhere up there...had to keep an eye out for them as I was driving out this moring.

So is the rain fly able to be removed? Sounds like the fly should be seam sealed, and even though the tent seams are taped I'll prob still hit it with some seam sealer.

    Deer is soo tasty :hungry:

I believe so...there are 3 places on the front and back with webbing and buckles so you can loosen and tighten it down depending on how much ventilation you want and then there are 3 cross braces, one on either end and at the peak. I haven't tried to take it off but I think if you undid the buckles and pulled on the braces it would come off. The roof of the tent is canvas though, no mesh.

Getting excited to head out into the bush soon. The weather is turning for the better in the northeast here, snow is almost all gone up north and looking to start it out with a trip to Franconia Notch to do the Ridge Loop.

Have my new Hennessy Hammock all ready to go and have been itching to use it. Hopeing this gives me a much better sleep than tenting it. Going to miss the ability to spead all my shit out in the tent, but I try to keep everything organized when camping just incase you need to up and move real quick.
