    So I have a 05 sr5 4x4 dc. I am about to do my 90k service and have some questions. I plan on changing the oil and filter; front and rear dif and transfer case as well as greese all zerks and air filters. First for the diffs. All I need is 75-90 oil right? I read about a lsd additive but I dont have a lsd so I just need the oil right. I also plan on hitting up my tranny fluid at 100k and cooland at 100k but what else do I need to consider and what problems should I expext. Thanks

    Don't get the gear oil on anything you value. That shit stinks! Don't even drain it into a tub that you plan on reusing if you store it in a garage or shed, the smell lingers. I had to throw out my oil storage bin because it made my garage smell bad.

    It's easier to get the gear oil in the diffs by using a little pump that attaches to the bottles. You can get the at the auto parts stores. Way easier than trying to tilt the bottle and spilling it everywhere.

    Follow the spark plug tutorial. It's a good write up.

    Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
    you'll have to get some form of a pump to get the oil in the front diff and tcase. no way to maneuver a bottle around those. i just did all of this a few weeks ago. ~92k now.

    I could not find mbile 1 gear oil so I just bought the auto part generic sythetic stuff. Anyone ever use it. Any issues

    Pfft... I have never owned an oil pump and have not had any trouble getting the oil in either of my diffs or the transfer case. You guys lack vision :D

    Only thing I can tell you, if this is the first time you'll be changing your differential or x-fer case oil make sure you open the fill plug first! If you open the drain plug first, then find out the fill plug is either cross threaded or stripped, you're officially screwed.

    FWIW, my manual says 75W90 for the front end and x-fer case and 80W90 for the rear end. I used Valvoline oils at 30 and 60k miles.

    At 90k, check your belt also, make sure it's in good condition, possibly consider cleaning your MAF and throttle body. Check the brakes while you're in there, if it's been a while since you've touched them, a quick bleed to cycle some fresh fluid through the lines doesn't hurt.

    You might want to get some new crush washers for all the plugs, but you should be ok to reuse the old ones, thats up to you.

    I had some sizable metal peices on my rear diff magnet (few mms) is that normal
