Satoshi'd grill. blacked out badges. aftermarket sound system. De-chromed and color matched. OME 885s + Dakars with 3rd leaf removed. LR UCAs. Scs stealth 6 with 285 duratracs. BAMF sliders
I am at about 23 1/2" running dakars with the 3rd leaf removed, so about 2" of lift. I tried the OME CB drop but it made the vibes worse. I keep putting it off but i really need to try some axle shims or maybe drop the CB less than the OME cb drop does. Really i need to take measurements and determine the difference in pinion angles and go from there.

So you went with 884s and kept the stock UCAs? How do you like the setup? The OP is considering doing a similar setup so your experience could probably help him. Unless we scared him out of lifting his truck because of vibrations

on my reg cab i run 884 with the trim packer and the small toytec top plate spacer and dakars with 3 degree shims. 3 inches up front and more than that for a while in the back it seemed. for what you are looking for i suggest the ome front setup using the 883 coil and trim packer, then if you need the extra bit of front lift after pick the appropriate size top plate spacer. doing this will give you a better ride. for the rear i dunno what to suggest is best, dakars will be more than you want. although i can't say i experience with a leaf removed, might be sweet. anyway with this lift i've also added weight from a steel front bumper, sliders and a cap. i get very minor vibes on acceleration somewhere around 40mph. be prepared for your driveshaft to start making noise, it can be loud and annoying, seems to be a common side effect of lifting. on my 1st cheap rear one inch block lift there might have been a slight faint noise, with the dakars it is very much there, this stock driveshaft only has 5000 miles on it. once i really got into things and read a shatload of stuff on this forum and others the vibes and noises are part of the game with our trucks.

I love what I did. its not my ideal setup but its my wallet's ideal setup and I have to agree. I like that with the 884's, I finally have an even layer of dust over my lca's without the shiny bare spot that used to always be there. still articulates well enough, no 3 wheel motion off road. not sure if it aligned to spec, the tech told me, "no, is not spec, but is within spec, no perfect but is right, is good"

    drives fine to me:cool:

I actually had to google it when I saw pzev under the hood of my car. . . . still lost. but if it really makes less doo doo than a full electric, then all them tree huggin hipsters totin their electric cars that don't spin wheels through 2nd gear need to know whats up, as my pzev is fairly quick, AND saving more trees

This. Once you've lifted, your rear driveline is no longer in the angle range spec'ed by the manufacturere (Dana.) So it's a coin toss whether you'll have rear driveline vibes.

A similar thing happens with the driver side sleeve in the front diff. Once the CV is operating at increased angle - it's out of it's design spec. East Coast Gear Supply has a fix to this particular problem should you encounter it, however.

Personally, I'm very happy with my 2011 4x4 reg cab lift, it's a little higher than what you're seeking, so I had more unintended consequences to deal with.

With OME shocks, 884 front springs, an "add a leaf" in the back you'd probably lift 2" all around and be as likely as anyone not to have any vibrations.

Furthermore, if you mount 265/75R16 tires on STOCK rims you're still operating at the factory wheel offset spec, and you're again, as likely as anyone not to trigger any problems with the VSC (vehicle stability control.)

    Have fun.

Now, I've seen companiess elling lifts telling me there won't be any issues. I've had peopel with experience clearly state otherwise, and back up their thinking.

...and I've ben reading that damn thread abou the turbo'd Taco, getting all kinds of crazy ideas in my head...LOL

I did spend some time at 4 Wheel Parts yesterday lookign at options, and they mentioned one I need to investigate. The leveling kit option.

I realize I started this path seeking a lift, and now realize I *may* have overlooked something that's just what I needed.

They mentioned that ProComp makes a leveling kit - though I have to admit, I'm less impressed with the Procomp adjustable shocks as they are either set at zero lift or 2.75 inches, no middle ground. The shop claims they are "way better than Billys"... I've run both PC and Bills on my Jeeps - for my use, they were a toss up - both clearly better than stock, though I didn't notice a big difference between them offroad.

...and Christ on a cracker, I'm thinking I might just learn that what you guys have been telling me is the right path after all. OME 884/885s, 5100s front/rear and set the fronts to (fill in the blank for leveling the truck).

So while I'm not done withthe idea of a 2" lift, I do need to learn more about the leveling option. It could be the ideal middle ground for my needs.

...and that brings me back to everyone's suggestions about the OME/5100 combos. OK, OK, you were all probably right... ;)

Since wee on reg cabs, I see different part numbers for o.e.m. front springs by model, I wonder if a D/C coil is simply slightly heavier weight or longer. I was debating getting a set from a junkyard or such to see if they raise the front any.

OK, so I seem to be learning that the general approach for what I'm after is to start with 5100s and springs. From a cost POV it makes sense, and for my usage, it would seem to make sense as well.

So if I go with 5100s up front (and say OME 884 springs), that leaves me with figuring out...

...what shocks to use on the rear axle...

What's the consensus here? Does Bilstein make rear shocks matched to the 5100s up front?

I posted this note almost a week ago...

Still, as of today, zero response from the USA distributor - camel4x4 out of New Jersey. I had emailed their "sales" email alias, you know, thinking that'd be the one most likely to want a sale...but apparently not. So today I hit all three emails listed on their website to see if anyone is paying attention.

Maybe, if I can think to call them before they close each day, I'll connect via phone to ask why they're allergic to email... ;)

*No idea why the forum keeps splitting my quote into two pieces - tried to edit it three times and it keeps splitting it when posting... weird...

By no means crossed off the list.

The camel4x4 guys appear to be the only shop selling Ironman products in the US right now, so I'm trying to track down if there are even any kit options from that company. ;)

I'm not in a hurry, so checking multiple sources and working through everything. Ideally, I'd find a local shop that can source and install everything for me. make sit easiest and "keeps it local", which I kinda like. That said, getting a good deal for my money, shipping gear in and paying for install-only is an option as well. I don't mind spending a bit more locally (say, under $100 bucks), but after that I'd police my wallet a bit more...
