Bought a new EOtech

So I found an

$423 EOtech 512.A65 EOTECH 512 Holographic Weapon Sight

EOtech 512.A65/1 for $250 on Craigslist, offered $150 and got it 20 minutes later at my lowball offer. (I didn't expect him to let it go for that). Needless to say, the optic was in pretty rough shape. So I cleaned and coated it. What do y'all think?

Thanks for the offer, but this is a surprise for my wife's AR. She would crap a cinder brick if she knew I got that good a deal and have it away lol. She's been hinting at one of these for a few weeks.

 

Was the guy a course trainer or what?? How could the optic possibly get that beaten up?

 

This is probably three years of Afghanistan/Iraq deployments. Slung M-4's tend to get beat up, the optics are no exception.

 

Looks good. Hopefully you tested it thoroughly. Those longitudinal battery EO's have been known to fail with prolonged use/abuse which it looks like this one fits the category of. Seems to be about the only weak point on those optics. Personally, I would sell that one for a profit and then find a deal on the XPS version. You could probably get $400ish for it to the right buyer and if you look hard enough you can find a new XPS for not too much more. Just my $0.08 adjusted for inflation.

 

L3 technologies sent me the battery repair kit since there have been a bunch of complaints like you said. Can't beat free warranty repairs.
