For those of you who might have been like me and forgot to do this u might want to go to ur local parts store and plan this.

My spark plugs were 36662 miles overdue for change. It just dawned on me last week that "hey I havent changed those yet".

This is the result of the neglect.

Just a reference chris4x4 recommends OEM Denso plugs.

This is what u need from the dealership
    Denso K20HR-U11. I payed $3.82 a piece.

    Too few to list.
From the looks of it, the Denso plugs (Left) did not gap as much as NGK (right). Good to know!

Absolutely noticed a difference. I noticed that before the truck while idling it had a strong gas smell from the exhaust now its much cleaner smelling also in the short drive it didn't seem so sluggish while accelerating.

I wasn't able to gauge if it affected gas milage yet but my wife took the truck into town and I know how much it takes to get there and back so hopefully it comes back with less used.

Yea the Denso were a smaller gap and also looked cleaner. The NGK had some corrosion issues as well as a much higher gap. Cylinder 6 was by far the worst out of all of them it was dirty and had very strange odor to it unlike the other 5. But being they were double the recommended changing interval it kinda was expected.

Your truck has 36662 miles on it? Or they were 36662 overdue for a change (meaning your truck has 66662 miles on it)?
Reason I ask is mine just hit 30k today and need to change mine this weekend. Hard to believe they would look like that after 36k only.

I've been meaning to change mine... I don't know if the previous owner/dealership changed the plugs but regardless, I have put a little over 40K miles on the truck. Same with transmission gear oil change.

I would do them just to have peace of mind. Regardless the change interval is 30k. Might as well do them. Only cost me $25 and change and a hour of my time.

Ok... cool. I was about to run out to the garage right now and change them if they were going to look like that lol. Good to know that they will hold up for that amount of time though.;)

Excellent point, recently bought 06 with 99000 miles, original plugs, gaps were at .055. Changed to oem Denso and felt a lot more low end torque and 3 mpg guest
