Well after enjoying a nice fathers day late lunch early dinner in my favorite beach community "Huntington Beach". I cashed in some fathers day points and had my dear sweet mom offer to drive. Me her and my two kids in the back seat jumped into the 4runner and headed out of down town HB towards Golden-west. Anyone that knows the area knows that the residential streets alternate from a stop sign on one to a through street from the opposite direction.

We were headed towards Goldenwest on Olive and to our left the lady in the nice little Acura had a stop sign that she either failed to see or decided she could drive through a 5000lb SUV? The witness behind us said she looked like she didn't even stop and anther witness mentioned she might be on her cell phone.

The front tire and my x-wings took the majority of the impact and knocked us sideways at least a couple feet.

We were all ok, my mom has a bump on the head and a bruised wrist, my kids bumped heads but they seem to be fine as well. Really more shaken up than anything else. I saw the car coming towards us but really didn't tense up but more of a relaxed brace for impact, kinda like you do when you jump or know your going to hit something hard off road.

To help comb my kids down (10year old boy and 5 year girl)I took them both over to the carnage of both cars and said "see this is why daddy makes those big metal thingies" then I went to the other drivers car and showed them that. The message and image should last a life time:)

Acura, did not fair so well. My favorite quote of the afternoon from a on looker "She tried to drive through that tank". Here car was totaled both bags went off.

Her stop sign which she thought meant speed up?

My through street which apparently should have had a stop sign to avoid other people not watching where they were going.

So in short, hug your kids kiss your SO and watch out for people that aren't paying attention. Oh and be sure to wear protection:)

Looks like the slider kickouts worked exceptionally well.
    Glad everyone's safe. Metal's easy to fix/replace.

Metal is easy to fix. I think the beefed up suspension in the front end though may have led to deeper frame damage.

I'm kinda hoping they total it so I can buy it back:) And fix it!

There really isn't any dents to them just the powder coating and stainless peeled off.

We do that! You should see what we do to the ICON suspension!

um I was a little shaken but not stirred.
