After browsing many many car sites. Spending time doing many mathematical computations and weighing out the good and bad I decided to Trade in my 3rd F150 for a Tacoma. All my life i have been a ford guy and still have my 06 GT but ive always had my eye on the tacoma. So after looking at the sport trac, explorer and even the ford edge i decided to suck it up and purchase my first toyota. So this may I thought id give it a try with 173k on my ford it was time to let it go. After searching and searching I finally found a truck in my price range and with all the options I was looking for. A 2005+ PreRunner Short bed in either black silver or blue with the TRD package Power outlet in the bed and double cab with under 100K. Well I found one while searching one day In northern VA so we loaded up and headed north. Truck had 83k on it, toyota certified and was very reasonably priced. However when i got there I saw Why. Mechanically the truck drives and appears to be better then new and was very well mechanically taken care of..but there were numerous scratches and rock chips all over the body. Having worked as a body man and also in paint..some time with a buffer, sanding paper and some wax i have since removed about 90% of the scratches and will eventually have a new front bumper put on. All in all i couldnt be happier. Love the truck and cant wait to see how many miles i can put on this. I have no doubt i will surpass all of my previous fords. The highest being my 93 f150 which had 200k... that was also after ALLOT Of money and a transmission at 170K. Still havent decided what or if i will make any drastic modifications to it as i travel to NY rather frequently and have been enjoying the 22-24mpg ive been getting. But time will tell. So with that I thought id introduce myself as being a newbie to the site and the truck. Look forward to the years to come here.

Welcome to Taco World from Colorado. Last November I sold my 03 F250 and in March bought a 2010 Taco Access Cab TRD Sport. I love the truck, but I miss the power of the diesel.

Thanks everyone!.Glad to be a member here.,,.I know what you mean. Ive had 2 5.4's and a 5.0. Dont miss the 13 mpg's but im certainly loving it now. with the fuel savings im sure it will just go into modding. Theres very little ive seen you guys do to your trucks here that i havent liked. seems everything looks good with these trucks. Loving it more everyday. Dont miss my ford! or the daily...monthly repairs
