Hi guys/gals. I recently got myself into a 1999 Tacoma. I love it and it runs like a dream. I am now already looking for ways to make it a little more comfortable and suit my body frame a little better. So a couple of questions.

    1) Are there aftermarket seats I can install in in this bad boy (SR5, extended cab), preferably 2 separate seats rather than one standard and one uber long 1.5 driver's seat?

    2) Is there a way to install a center console without having to hack stuff apart and where would I get one?

    3) Is there a way to change the dash displays (odometer, tac, etc) to something more modern?

I am just curious what the options are with this year Tacoma. Also, I am not very mechanically inclined and don't like the idea of having to start chopping, milling, etc. Thanks for your help.

    First of all, welcome

Second of all, don't ever pose this topic here again... your wallet will never be the same

    1. There are plenty of aftermarket options available. All ranging from "lots of modification/fabbing required" to "no modification/fabbing required." It all also depends on how much you're willing to spend. Corbeau makes many great seats that you can simply bolt in with use of their brackets they sell. But you're looking at upwards of $800-ish when all said and done.

Another option is to just find bucket seats out of a 1st gen Tacoma and they'll bolt right up. There are some for sale in the marketplace right now.

If you search "seat swap" you'll get a lot of helpful threads

    2. Center consoles from 95-04 all bolt up to every tranny hump and shifter trim. The only thing you have to concern yourself with is the bracket that attaches the console to the hump varies between 95-00 and 01-04.

    3. You can easily change the color of gauges/display. There are also people who have swapped in a 4runner gauge cluster and I think there are some on ebay that should be plug n play also.

Thanks for the info! I looked at the guage clusters on ebay. There are several for 04 and later for sale that look nice. Is there any reason a later model cluster won't work on a 99?

So would an 04 guage cluster work in my 99? The ebay description says it would not be compatible, not sure why not.
