Thinking about selling my Tacoma & buying a FJ

    I like the look, but not having a rear door would kill me. my kids get in and out of the car, and having to get out to let them out would suck.

    Ive owned numerous pick up trucks and ive owned an FJ cruiser.

    I sold my 2008 Tacoma to buy a 2008 FJ but sold the FJ after a year to buy another Tacoma. The reason was because pickup trucks are just more utilitarian.

    I surf, bike ride and kayak, among other things. There is nothing more convenient than just throwing what you have in the back of a truck and taking off. I couldn't do that with my FJ or it was harder with the FJ.

    The FJ is a great vehicle and it drives great. Although I only went on moderate trails, its been proven to be a very capable off roader.

    Right now I am driving a 2002 Tacoma and it just works out better for me. I don't have to hoist my kayak on top of the roof anymore. I can throw dead fish and dead animals in the bed of the truck and not work about smelling up the car.

    My surfboards fit perfectly.

    Plus, my current Tacoma gets better mpg than the FJ.

    I've owned 3 tacomas and 6 Toyota pick ups all together. I just picked up a07 fjc. I really like the truck but not sure if it's better than a taco.imore of a pick up guy.home depot runs,yard work,side work.i still have my dually for all that so its not an issue yet.i just picked up a 5x10 enclosed trailer to use with fjc. The blind spots on the fj are insane. I love the plastic floors since I'm a slob.the rear seats are small.great for kids but would suck for adults.

    The back seat is actually roomy my stepson and daughter fit in it quite comfortably and they are both teens and they never complained .

    I have had this vehicle since 08 and have almost 100k on it and I haven't had a single problem with it that I didn't cause myself and even then it was minor (like getting stuck in a huge mud hole). I really like the looks of it when modified....it's unique. I see jeep wranglers everywhere and it's so dime a dozen. The FJs though....you don't see too many built up.
