Hey I wanna know if you guys know where I could locate a TRD Supercharger for my 3.4. I dont mind used as long as it wasnt tortured and a POS. I wanted some input on where to get one for under 2k. Also in your opinion which would be ab better choice...

Supercharge my 170k mile 3.4 5vz-fe.... or.... Motor Swap to a 2jz from a lexus?

I would do the swap if I had the resources to pull it off. I love my sc.... but a 2jz would be sweet

For racing or taking off road? I think the 2JZ is a hard engine to produce low end torque. Unless you are running a streat truck, the 5vz and gears are more than plenty. SC is more of a nice to have IMHO.

Yeah I was just throwing and off the all idea of the 2jz motor.. I just absolutly love that motor and the 22r toyota motor. Ive seen the 2jz done in our trucks they call them the Supra Trucks LOL!! I have seen specs for the SC on the 5vz motor and it increases it by almost 100% up to 240hp. I was curious if anyone had any MPG Specs on a SC 5vz.

The sad thing is, you're going to spend a few thousand dollars for the SC, misc. accessories, and its still going to be slow. It's a truck, unless you need the extra power for climbing mountains in Colorado or your pulling a large camper, you're going to be sadly disappointed. Dont expect a 240hp V6 with 170k miles weighing 3,600 lbs to be fast.

Look into doing a rear mounted turbo set up similar to the STS kit

I really dont care that much about extra ponies, nor the pulling power. Im not looking to buld a speed demon truck. I just want to increase the MPG to around 20 or more if possible. Before anyone says I need to buy a car or a newer tacoma I dont want either of those. I love my model taco and I just want to make her a beast. Turbo setup would be sweet but I beleive there will be more $$$ invested into that setup rather than a SC. My current setup is CAI, Throttle Spacer and dual flowmasters.

a supercharger isn't going to increase MPG. you'll probably lose a couple.

Forced induction to make better MPGs?

Go for it. Please let us all know what we already do when you finish.
