Some Advice for my setup

So I'm really close to getting my 2013DCLB TRD Sport with Tow Package....I am a big hunter and fisherman and pull a flatbed every once in a while and a 18ft skeeter bass boat. I will be putting a topper on the back also. I want to be able to goo offroading with some 285 muds on there and get good clearance but not over 3 inches so I keep my warranty. So for a simple setup that will keep my rear end from sagging hooked up to the boat can I do Bilstein 5100 with stock springs and in the back do OME Leaf Spring Kit cs047R and will that give me a level look with 2.85s and not sag with the boat hooked up. The boat is about 2800 total weight with trailer....

What do you think?

 

I guess I'll answer this one. From what I've seen on here, if I was in your situation I'd do an add-a-leaf, that'll raise your rear about an inch and a half, and keep it from sagging as much. The ride is a bit more stiff though. The front, I'd go with the Bilstein 5100s and set them at 1.75. I'm not sure that the 285s will fit perfectly with no rubbing, but you should be able to cram them under there with minimal issues.

 

I always suggest dakars in the rear, although I am biased. Why not full OME front to back? Lifting your truck won't void any warranty..

 

Of course I'm always thinking about lifts on a budget. Gotta love college.

Its what im running (minus the leafs, they are Icon progressives) and I couldn't be happier.

 

Best Value and best ride... add a leave will fail sooner and it doesn't ride as nice... Love my Dakars... OME just works! and it's doesn't kill your budget.

 

For a budget lift, OME is the way to go.

Also... Lifts do not void warranty. Manguseen-Moss act. They will void your suspension warranty (obviously)... and if they can prove the lift caused pre-mature failure of something else (ie, drive-shaft) you will be denied. Otherwise, they must cover it by law.

 

Dakars are far superior for load carrying in an off-road application. I've had over a thousand *(1000) pounds in the bed and couldn't have been any more satisfied with the handling.

 

Tongue weight is what's going to affect your sagging while towing so, hard to say what you need. Personally I love my All-Pro leaf pack, but it's closer to the 4" mark when they're fresh.

 

I think the point everyone is saying is add-leaf won't last that long and won't ride as well as replacing the whole pack, the Toyota stock leafs are so weak, mine completely flattened brand new with a Buell Blast motorcycle in the bed.. it's like 350lbs or so..

 

The stock leafs are a joke and belong on like, a nissan leaf, not a truck
