I recently installed a Fabtech 6" basic lift with 33" tires on my 09 double cab long bed 4x4 and the first thing that I noticed was an increase in turning radius.

It is quite noticable that the wheels dont turn (left and right) as far as they used to. The steering stop is a part of the new cast spindle, as opposed to being bolted on like the stock spindle.

I spoke with Fabtech and was told that their lift is designed with a 20% reduction in steering and (as I expected and unserstand) that modifying any of their components would void any warranties. One of the reasons they told me they did this was because the lift is designed around 35" tires and at full stock steer they would hit the frame. Not an issue for me sense I am running 33's.

I have access to equipment to modify the steering stop so that's not a problem. Before I just go to hacking at it, I will measure to see exactly how much difference there is between the stock steering stop and the one built into the new knuckle.

I just wanted to see if anyone else noticed an increased turning radius after installing a 6' lift and if you did....did you just get used to it or did you modify something?

    Thanks

Just a few little things. It's my DD
I wouldn't cut on the new lift and I would buy 35's since that would look bad a$$!

    this.

you're talking about cutting into a very important suspension component. I wouldn't recommend it but then again I play it safe sometimes.

he'll no it won't help but it at least gives you a better reason to have reduced steering. you'll probably get used to it. if not maybe a DB lift will chime in

    9" of Super Bro lift
Appears to be a Fabtech issue only.....pro comp steering stops are a weld on item & smaller than the Fabtech stops.
