New member here! Recently went from a full size Chevy Z71 to a TRD, still getting used to the transition! Looking at doing a lift, but want to do my research. I'm pretty set on 3" with 285's like I had with the Chevy with the torsion bar cranked up to make it sit level. I am more concerned about ride quality, I definitely lean toward the coilovers, TC UCA's, and maybe add a leaf for the rear. I know everyone and their mom brings up this topic, but I really want a nice ride quality because the truck is only off road 20% of the time. Thanks for the advice ahead of time! Pics of members who have similar set ups would be sick! Thanks again!

Welcome  and it defenitely sounds like you've got a good plan going. I would recommend a progressive add a leaf from icon or wheelers over a standard one. The progressive packs have multiple leafs which makes a better/less harsh ride.

This is what I did for the rear. It basically turns a 3-leaf pack into a 6-leaf.
I also removed the overload. Rides nice.

Thanks to all replies so far... :D Bridgcat, so basically you have a stage 3 Icon minus the leaf pack that you swapped for the Dakar? Any driveline vibrations?

Vibes are hit and miss. Some will have them and some won't. The best are a carrier bearing drop or axle shims. You just want to keep your angles as close to stock and as even as possible to not worry about vibes.

I have 0 vibes, but I have the beefed taco carrier bearing drop. But even before I installed it, I had 0 vibes. I just used it because I had already purchased it.

Mike2011- Going from a full size to a midsize was a huge change. Since I don't tow as much as I used to, I didn't see much of a point driving the full size with HORRIBLE gas mileage. Anyone know/have done business with LEX Motorsports (Luxury Extreme Motorsports)? They have a sick front replacement bumper with light bar that I want to get.
