Swaybar had to be pulled. Flexing hasn't been an issue, but I don't think I've maxed it out.

this is dependent on a few factors off set of your wheels and the actual size of the tire i had to chop mine pretty severely for 295-70-17 trail fappers on a 4.75 offset wheel.

edit: i'm also a little higher than most running a 3inch lift as well.

True, I didn't detail anything else - OEM wheels (16").

Mine are 285/75/16. Perhaps I need to flex 'em out more - haven't had any problems yet, even went wheelin a few times.

Hey guys so I talked to a local shop about doing cab mount chop and the guy said that if I do it and get in an accident the insurance wont cover my truck because its considered frame damage cutting it or something. is there any truth to this. I bought the BAMF plates. thanks

Shit I hadn't heard that. But If your getting bigger tires it is a must, so.... Also if you get the BAMF plate welded on it won't be very noticeable, especially after an accident.

Michael it's very very easy, all you need is a sharpie and an angle grinder. There is even an instructional thread on TW that you can follow, I did. For the price you pay someone to do it you can buy yourself a nice angle grinder, safety glasses, jack stands and a 30 pack for afterwards for when your enjoying the fact you did it yourself.

Here are some photos from when I did mine about a year ago. I bought plates from BAMF but haven't welded them yet. To much other shit to do.

As you can see in this photo, the marks are where my tires are hitting.

Then chop chop with an angle grinder and no mas! Finished up with rust-o-leum.

yeah damn I want to do it and I dont plan on crashing my truck haha but you never know. I am an aircraft mechanic but no fab exsperiance how hard is it to cut I have buddies that will weld it on and ive used lots of cutting tools just not on metal.

Super easy, you can do it trust me. Here is a thread with pictures. The only touchy part is welding the piece on, you don't want to over heat it and ruin the body mount bushing, that's why they stitch weld it. I am not a mechanic and have worked my way through my build and enjoyed the satisfaction and huge amounts of money saved doing my build myself. Not to mention I have learned a lot about my truck along the way.
