Hey guys, been a recent lurker and finally have my own Taco (2013 DCSB). I've been scouring the internet and this forum, but can't seem to find a decisive answer. Will the Inno Bed Rack stays (RT102), which mount into the c-channel tracks in the bed, work with a tonneau cover? These seem similar to the love2surf mounts, which doesn't look like are being made anymore. From what I can gather, the love2surf mounts were compatible with a tonneau cover, so i'm wondering/hoping that the Inno rack stays will work with some tonneau covers? Any thoughts?

    thanks!

So, i spent a lot more time than I should have yesterday researching tonneau covers and bed racks. There's obviously a ton of info on these forums. My previous research had been looking at options like the Softopper or the Pelfreybilt and All Pro bed racks. I hadn't previously researched the various tonneau cover options as I didn't think I wanted to go in that direction. I'm still a bit undecided, too...

In any case, I think to answer my original question, those Inno RT102 bed stays probably will not work with most/any tonneau covers.

However, the one thing I'm wondering to myself if perhaps the Truxedo Lo Pro QT cover could work with the Inno RT102 rack stays IF you notch the Truxedo rails to allow the Inno brackets to pass through. Of course, if that even works, that would compromise the weatherproofness of the tonneau cover.

You can see what I'm envisioning by comparing these diagrams and photos:
First diagram under the install for the Inno RT102 bed stay shows how they mount to the utility track, go up and bend to sit on top of the bed rail:
    http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/orsr...-truck-rack-installation-instructions-pdf.pdf

Then, compare that with the photos in this excellent Truxedo Lo Pro QT install thread:
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/product-reviews/87480-truxedo-lowpro-qt-installed-today.html

If you notch the Truxedo rail that you install, you lose the ability to move the Inno stays up and down the utility track, but I think it could possibly work. Not sure that I would want to invest the money on the tonneau and inno bed stays just to test it out, though.. ;)

In the end, I think the best option for pairing up a tonneau cover with Thule/Yakima type cross bars is to mount Thule or Yakima tracks on the bed rails, like I've seen some people do on here. Then, you just need to choose a low profile tonneau cover that is narrow enough to install along with that. Seems like the Truxedo Lo Pro QT and Access LiteRider (and a few of the other low profile Access covers) would work well in that kind of setup.
