    Hello,
I have a 2013 Tacoma 4 door with the 6' bed. She is the limited edition with the 18x9 inch rims. What I want to do, though, is put a 3 to 4 inch lift on her with larger tires/better rims.

In cadence with the ideas that have been floating around, I finally just needed to write it all down. I don't know a whole lot about suspension or spacer lifts, I do know that I am not the type to go rock crawling. I love traversing trails and mud at a fairly quick pace. I've heard that a stage 2 suspension lift may be good. Though, I'm hoping to keep it in the $1,000 range or so just for the lift kit.

If anyone who's done a lift or new tires to their truck could help me out in finding the right stuff, I'd be very grateful. Thanks

    A few things I've found:

Removed Charcoal filter, K&N filter, and that's it until I can save a bit
I went ahead and sub'd this thread.

Interested in a good lift myself. The only real options that I am seeing here are the Toytec and the Rough Country. Don't go cheap and get the blocks, which is what is currently installed on mine. As someone else said you feel every crack. But you also need to be careful because with the 5100's you need a sway bar relocation kit that it doesn't seem to include. Though I haven't found solid information on that, some just say to remove the sway bar but leave it on to keep the road handling characteristics solid.

Anyway I am no expert but I'll be watching this thread to see what you go with. I like the rough country, includes a lot like skid plates. But maybe not the best components included. Even the 5100's aren't the best on the market, but pretty good.

Oh by the way I have some BFGoodrich T/A KO 275/75R16, they are pretty good. I like them and a lot of people seem to like them as well.

Go with the toytec ultimate! It doesn't require permenant damage like the first one on the list and rides better anyway. Nice choice in wheels and tires too!

Complete OME kit with Dakars is another option (probably one of the better). Do the top plates to get to 3".

Spacers lifts are not the best and if doing a DB lift consider other comps like RCD. There are several comps that put out a DB lift, just be sure you understand what you are doing to your truck going with type of lift.

Most like to play things safe going with an aftermarket strut and coil to achieve lift or doing high end coilovers (Icon, King, Fox, Sway-a-way….).

I suggest doing a bit more research!

You are satisfied with the BDS 4" lift? I am considering that vs. icon stage 2. Any cutting needed with the BDS lift?

Do not preload OME coils with the 5100 adjustable strut!!! The coil gives you the desired lift on the 0.0" setting.

The 885 and Dakar lift is a good choice.

You are correct! Sorry I didn't set mine to 1.75" as the 885's get a full 3" in themselves. My old lift was the billies at 1.75" without the coils

3" with the billies set to 0 with the 885's. I didn't set them to 1.75" that was my old lift I had

I'd be surprised if you got 3" from 885s on a double cab. I'm hoping to get that on my access cab.

The break over clearance is increased, just not between the tires.

5100's with OME 885x coils - Did not hit the sway bar or need a relocation kit. Set at 0
    2" AAL for the rear.
Driver side .25 spacer for taco lean - may have to change to a .50 spacer as it's leaning a bit with settling.

2.5 inches up front, 1.5 inches in the rear for about 3/4" of rake. All for just under $1k installed.

oh yeah - anything over what I did and you'll likely need UCA's. Depending on what tire size you plan to run you'll (285?) likely need to do some fender well trimming and possible a cab mount chop depending on how much lift you end up with.

I didn't want to trim or chop so I ran a smaller tire. I'm running 265/70/17 Cooper AT/3's.
