I use the bed outlet to charge batteries while working out the back of the truck. I noticed the only way to run the inverter is to have the key in the ignition.

Is there any way to power the bed outlet without the key in the ignition the whole time? I don't like the idea of just leaving the truck open with the keys in the ignition.

    Thanks

You can do the same thing I do when I need to run into a store in the hot summer and leave my dog in the car. I leave it running with the AC on and lock the driver door manually with the spare key.

Im pretty sure there is an inverter always on mod. Check the "cheap/free mod" section

Too keep things simple, I'm thinking of getting a non programed extra key. This way I can leave it in there and run the inverter, but that specific key will not be able to start the engine due to the engine lock.
